Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaThe ground floor lobby of the building is in a bit of disrepair
The location is unsurpassed for a traveller wanting to stay in right in the hustle and bustle of downtown Cairo. The staff are friendly and helpful and the hotel has a historic feel. The premises are clean and functional.

ZimbabweOld hotel, broken night stand, curtains not hung well and room did not look like in the pictures.
The management was very warm, welcoming and accommodating. Their driver patiently waited for my flight that was delayed thus arriving at 3 am.

United KingdomThe only thing I would change is to have a bedside light so that I can read in bed at night without the main light on!
The location of this hotel is really fantastic, right in the middle of Downtown Cairo. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and brought me tea and coffee in my room. The room had a lovely balcony which was really nice to sit on in the mornings and afternoons. Nice omelette for breakfast! Comfortable and large bed!

United KingdomThe hotel itself is located on the sixth floor of a building that looks impressive from the outside but is somewhat dilapidated from within- and that's putting it mildly, but not being accustomed to luxuries, this wasn't personally a problem. Faded grandeur comes to mind- like Egypt itself. The rooms ( I stayed in two because I was initially put in a twin room and then a single) were decent enough and clean, but I didn't exactly have a decent view in either of them ( let's just say dingy for both), but again, this isn't a deal breaker for me. There was no toilet paper supplied in the first room (Egyptians use a water hose / bidet contraption), but after they moved my stuff to the other room (and presumably noticing a pack of toilet rolls I'd purchased) they supplied some . Both rooms had air con which not only kept me cool, but helped drown out the noise of the incessant traffic. I have to say, the WiFi was poor, the signal very weak ( in the rooms but not the lobby) and I'm glad I purchased a local SIM at the airport.
The hotel is well located no more than 10/15 minutes away by foot from the Egyptian museum, the river Nile, Tahrir square, 15/ 20 minutes from the Abdeen Palace museum, 25/30 minutes from 'Islamic Cairo', and the main bazaar. The Nile tower can be reached in 15/ 20 minutes. Also handy for restaurants and fast food joints eg, Felfela, Abou Tarek. The staff were pleasant and the management seemed very friendly especially on first meeting. On the penultimate day of my stay, I enquired about a tour of the pyramids of Saqqara and Dahshur and Memphis museum ( very last minute indeed ) which they were able to accommodate, without a guide -for which I was very grateful . I enjoyed the day immensely and the driver was very likeable and courteous and improvised at times as tour guide. Being a cat lover, the presence of cats in the building ( not in the hotel) was a pleasant surprise.

EgyptThe staff are limited which is not reasonable compared with the relative high rate to the supplied service. The breakfast is limited to one category only (1 egg, 1 yogurt, 2 Teema nesto, and only hot drinks) And there were no fruits or fresh juice, while there were so many varieties in the online photos for the hotel The TV was not working good as the signal cable was not fixed, and the TV itself was not Flat. The housekeeping was limited to wiping the floor despite that there were sheets needs to be changed but they just put it again on the bed. And requested one more cushion but they replied that there is no one available! Unfortunately most of the online pictures was not matched with the actual experience
The location is so good in Cairo downtown The Hotel area is so quite and relaxing The room area was suitable for our need The AC was working fine

United States of AmericaThe bathroom was a bit sparse, with the nozzle on the shower broken so that water would spray in any direction (no shower curtain either). I was also only provided with one roll of toilet paper the entire stay, although when i went to ask for more the staff were happy to assist.
The staff were more helpful and friendly than any I’ve encountered at a hotel so far, and especially given the price I always felt welcomed coming back to the hotel at any hour. The room was also pretty comfortable and had good AC.
