Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SpainRoom was average for the money and very noisy. Not outside we like that. It’s a busy street and to be expected. The two family’s around us were unbelievably noisy. Nothing you can do about that so no blame there. Is what it is.
Restaurant was nice and staff were lovely. Location was great.

SpainA little attention needed to maintenance, cobwebs and water stains on the ceiling also dirty marks and paint peeling from main wall.
On arrival we were greeted by Peter at reception, he could not have been more helpful and gave us information on everything we needed to know, an absolute asset to the hotel, we then entered the restaurant to enquire about the menu, the English lady behind the bar made us feel very uncomfortable, we were shown a a4 paper menu which we asked if we could take with us, no I only have 2 was the answer then we asked does the menu change daily the reply was depends on what they tell me, she was not overly helpful or pleasant, as a result we ate elsewhere, my wife has worked in hospitality for 24 years and treats every guest as they are royalty.

United KingdomWe had no problems with hotel
Great location in old town in Calle de Loreto which is a lovely tapas street and just a couple of minutes walk to the centre of town. The beach and harbour are 5-10 minute walk. The room we had was great with balcony and was very quiet. This is an old converted convent so there are no lifts but that qas not a problem for us.

AustraliaThe only negative thing I can say, is that there was a very unpleasant smell, maybe coming from the Aircon system itself. I don't think it was coming from the bathroom as one may expect. I repeat that the room was kept spotless by the cleaning staff but not really sure what was causing this smell. Definitely something in the air, which was a pity.
The best aspect of this hostel is its location right on Loreto street, which is a pedestrian one in the historic centre of Denia. Lots of restaurants all along the long street with a good offer of food and drinks. Some may be tourists traps but not all and you may want to keep an eye out for any lunchtime specials for something lighter and more affordable. As for the hostel, it offers a nice courtyard in the centre of the building. Breakfast is now offered at a restaurant next door but I didn't opt in, so I can't comment about the quality. My room, I believe was on a second floor that you can access by two flights of stairs and down a corridor. It was quiet enough after a certain hour and it had a small fridge, a TV set and a large bed. Not very big as a room but this was for one person only. However, the bathroom was really big in relation to the size of the bedroom and it had both a bathtub and a separate shower. It was kept pretty clean.

The location was fabulous, with plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. The hotel itself was really lovely, the rooms big and airy, and the courtyards was really pretty. The breakfast, and the gentleman serving was very good, and all the receptionists were very friendly and efficient.

CanadaThe air conditioner in our room didn't work very well but we survived despite the heat outside. Also, this wasn't the hostal's fault but when the staff called for a taxi for us on a Saturday there was none available. We had to walk from the hostal to the ferry. It took about a half hour to get there which isn't bad but the heat was oppressive and we are all over 60 years old.
The staff in the hostal and the restaurant were amazing. The hot breakfast was very good. The beds, pillows and bathroom all were comfortable. We loved the courtyard to be able to sit in after a long day of walking and site seeing. The street in front of the restaurant was only for pedestrians and there were all kinds of shops and restaurants along it within walking distance.

Location excellent bars and restaurants on your doorstep. Gentleman on reception spoke perfect English and upgraded me from a single to a double bed at no extra charge. Rooms were clean and functional and for the 1st time in Spain there was a basket in the shower for soap and shampoo, no more one hand juggling!!

Has a great interior courtyard perfect for relaxing with a drink. Easy walk to the port area, shopping & Denia Castle only a 5 min walk away.
