The room was very small and basic, but served our purpose. The music in the pool area was very (too!) loud.

This is a very nice hotel right on the beach. Short drive from the airport, plenty of parking, friendly staff. Breakfast was good, lots of choices. And it was wonderful to have a very nice restaurant right there. There is lots of room to sit in the lobby.

I did not like about the property that in the first days we had cockroaches in our room…. And also room was super renovated but was not super clean when we arrived that was a little disappointed. Breakfast was just simple, every day the same and just boring, not so many options to pick it up.

I like about the property that everyone was really friendly especially one man by reception, he helped with upgrading our room after situation with cockroaches. Food was really yummy, drinks also. We really enjoyed spending time by the swimming pool, we did not use it because water was way too cold.

Breakfast was such a disappointment. The tableware was greasy, and the food was nothing special, not well cooked either. They didn't even have fresh juice ( a location like this could have fresh orange juice) instead of that they had juice from a store mixed with water (can't prove that though) plastic jars were dirty etc. Super nice rooms and staff, not the cheapest hotel but breakfast pulled my opinion so down. Increase your meal allocation and schedule maybe one more person for breakfast and a little bit more "care" and there you go. Almost forgot, they deposited for the TV remote since apparently guests are stealing. Basically you assumed I would also steal. At the same time they had hangers, the ones you can't steal and if you take them you can't hang them at home with plastic holders which were broken and loose. No big deal but makes you wonder how thought through is this.

Amazing staff, especially ladies at the reception. Loved the bathroom of my room too!

The standard sea view room is very bad, everything old, bad smell, the balcony door locked us outside, the towels and the bathroom very old and with stains, this room was a nightmare. Also, the fact that the bar and the restaurant closed between 10.00-12.30 during the day, couldn’t buy a water. The fact that the rooms had no minibar.

Restaurant remote from kitchen,so food cold.

Close to airport & OK for LA Gomera ferry. On the beach & great views of wind surfers. Comfortable room with sea view terrace. Nice garden & public areas, pool. Great breakfasts - wide choice - next to kitchen. Cafes close by.

I was on the 3 rd floor which has not been renovated, unlike the rest of the hotel. A bit tired and no fridge.

BREAKFAST… the “ senior” waitress was appaling attitude. Whilst I was eating my breakfast and went for second coffee I was told finish at 10. I showed her my watch to say it’s just 10 now. She was likewise 2nd morning… DOES IT MEAN OUT AT 10 !!!

A bottle of water on arrival would have been nice. Deposit needed for TV remote, and pool towels chargeable for a small fee. There was some kind of water-sports meeting over two of the days, which meant less shaded seating around the pool and no calming pool music. Slamming doors - would recommend affixing gadgets to the top of each door so that they close meaningfully. Top of the budget, but nicer than hotels/accommodation nearby.

All of the staff were wonderful - kind, funny, polite, helpful. Was greeted by Sofia on check in, felt very welcomed. Able to leave bags securely ahead of my room being ready. Right on the beach, but the nice end not the hectic end :) A good handful of shops, restaurants and bars within a ten minute walk down the beach/boardwalk. At the hotel end, a perfect view of the Red Mountain. Endless water-sports options on your doorstep too. Great walking options straight out of the door. Room was a good size, small fridge, toiletries, fan, balcony with a view and a very good shower (pressure and temperature - both never an issue). Pool size was good, but I didn't venture in. Enough sunbeds and seating around the pool. Breakfast was solid - hot, cold, fruits, savoury and sweet options. Coffee machine available too, with water and juice also on tap. Common areas spacious, cool and clean. There were spaces to sit indoors too (away from the sunshine), and store items such as water-sports equipment or bikes. Less than 15 minute drive to the airport - bonus! Strong WiFi. Restaurant connected to the hotel was good and handy for lunch and dinner. Would stay again.

Excellent facilities for location to water sports and having a bike room to store and tools to setup bike on arrival. The staff were very helpful in making a wonderful stay.

Shower in room was poor pressure and would be nice to have a fridge and hot drink making facilities in room.

The pool was far too cold and was almost never used by anyone. The women´s wc in the garden was ridiculously small, there was no way to close the inner door! We missed whole grain bread and some more diversity at breakfast, it was fine for a few days but after two weeks we were getting tired of the same things. Finally the music by the pool was played far too loud all the time.

All staff was very nice and helpful. The sun lounge/garden was very nice with comfy sunbeds and always enough space for everyone. Breakfast was fine but after two weeks it got a little tiresome.

The breakfast was ok-ish, but a bit more diversity would've been nice. Although the building is pretty old - built in 1980 it appears, it is generally in good condition. Changing the balcony doors on the top will help a lot though, as they vibrate strongly during strong winds (not at all uncommon in those parts).

Pretty good location for trips around the island - assuming you're renting a car. The car parking was not super spacious, but never had trouble finding a parking space. Also, if you're a surfing enthusiast this is apparently one if the best places on the island.

Hotel playa Sur is in an excellent location, very close to the beach, shops and cafes. The staff were lovely and very helpful. The room was clean and comfortable.

Wish they didn't try and charge extra for the safe, I know a lot of hotels do but it is very annoying!

Hotel was right on the beach, breakfast was excellent with loads of choice hot and cold. Very quiet and the Hotels own restaurant was excellent if wanting an evening meal of lunch time snack

There were no kettle in the room so couldn’t make a cuppa and also the tv only have one English channel which was sports! Mostly German channels.

Lovely place, nice and quiet, comfy sun loungers and nice food too. great position next to beach. If you like water sports this is definitely the place for you! Would come back again😊

The car park was sometimes full and therefore difficult to park the car.
