Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomOur room was a little disappointing. On the plus side it was larger than usual for a city centre hotel, and had a bath as well as a shower, but our main issue was the lack of light. We had only one window, which overlooked an internal stairwell with a walkway alongside, so if we wanted to stop people looking in we had to keep the curtains closed. The only natural light was if we opened the window, poked our heads out and looked skywards! I booked three rooms - the other two had an outside view, but ours did not (room 230).
The public areas at the San Gil are lovely. We particularly liked the beautiful tiled Moorish-style reception and bar, the large breakfast room, and the rooftop pool and loungers, all of which were set around a gorgeous courtyard filled with orange trees. The staff were very helpful, and the location was good: a quiet side street about five minutes walk from a large area filled with bars and restaurants, and five minutes in the other direction to the old city walls and the Andalusian parliament building (from which you can catch the hop on hop off bus). To walk to the Cathedral, Palace, etc was about 25 minutes - a very pleasant walk through old streets. Breakfast was busy when we were there but the staff coped well, providing a good selection of pastries, cold meats, cheeses, bread etc. There was also a small hot food section (this changed each day but there was always scrambled eggs and bacon). If you are a cereal lover you might be disappointed as there were only two choices.

United KingdomThe welcome was poor, the cooked breakfast food was not good and the room, although one of the more expensive, was on the inner courtyard / sitting and dining area therefore very noisy at night and in the early morning.
The location was great.

United KingdomWasn't keen on the pillow which was thin and gave me neck ache but I didn't ask reception for a replacement so was my problem. No coffee making facilities in room but I knew this before booking so again not a major problem.
Lovely hotel with an inner courtyard where you could eat your meals or sit and relax . Food was very good, breakfast hot and cold buffet with plenty of choice. Made use of rooftop pool and sunbathed with lots of beds available. Room was reasonable size and clean and well maintained. Staff were all helpful and pleasant. Reception happy to give local information and service staff were attentive. Bar area typically Spanish, cool and tiled. I would definitely consider using again if staying in Seville. Based in old town area and lots of restaurants and bars within walking distance. Local tapas were great and not expensive.

FranceStaff having a (work related) discussion with each other while you wait. Example, whilst getting you to sign the breakfast chit. The sun loungers need to be upgraded.
Staff generally nice, particularly some people. Hotel in pretty good condition. Although the pool is very small it is nice & clean. The central courtyard is pleasant.

United KingdomMy room was very cold at night (April stay) even with the extra blanket it was too cold, there was aircon, but no heating. The room was also rather dark, as the window only looked out into an enclosed high space. The shower was just the mixer type with a flexible hose over a bath, and squirted water in unpredictable directions! I was in a part of the hotel that required going outside into the enclosed courtyard garden in order to access the reception, dining room or bar. Given that the weather was cold and wet, this wasn't ideal. But on a sunny warm day wouldn't be an issue. My experience of the dinner menu was mixed. The first night I had chicken & potatoes, which was very dry, but the hake the second night was very good.
I liked some of the traditional features of the hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. For example, there was no kettle in my room, but one was provided when I requested it. Bed was reasonably comfortable. Dining room staff very friendly and pleasant. The hotel was clean and quiet at night. Charming courtyard garden. I didn't use the swimming pool, so can't comment. Bar prices very reasonable for a hotel. Good selection of shower products provided in bathroom.

United KingdomThe room was freezing on the first night, the heating was complicated but staff fixed it. The dining room was functional, we booked dinner but cancelled as it was stark, empty and super brightly lit. We found a great tapas bar two minutes away, turn left then right. I didnt like the streets outside, a lot of dog excrement and graffitti. Think its probably the same in any back streets here in Seville. I also left a suede jacket in my room and gave emailed about it but got no response.
An attractive traditional property in a back street, lovely tiled courtyard, helpful staff. Tasteful room with bath and plenty of hot water. Roof terrace great for relaxing in late afternoon sun after sightseeing. Location close to Hercules square for lots of bars and eating places. Also v close to open top bus stop. Breakfast was comprehensive, lots of choice and delicious cakes! Pity no fresh orange juice in Seville! Staff very accommodating. Parking was extraordinary, a staff member came with us, we drove for about a mile, ended up in a lift, up to a tiny first floor cp… impossible for a bigger car than our renault. We descended the lift which magically opened into the hotel!

United KingdomAs mentioned I think the room needed a little bit of updating/modernising but it was absolutely fine for our requirements.
We were a group of 3 friends coming to Seville for the first time. The room was perfect for us, although two beds were side by side, it was fine as they were big enough. The room was clean albeit a little 'tired' but it was fine for us.

IrelandThe personnel on reception are not really knowledgeable about the attractions, they recommend me a flamenco show, however, they gave me a different ticket, we only realized once we arrived at the theatre that the show that was sold to us was not the same that they recommended. We end up paying two different flamenco shows.
The location was really good, the swiming pool was a little small but nice, the food was really delicious and the room was amazing.
