Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

France1 we paid in advance for breakfast. We realised when we were there that we had paid for a full cooked breakfast, which we don't have; another time we would pay for a continental breakfast once there. 2 the TV remote didn't work, we told the staff it needed new batteries, but we were given a lecture on how to operate it instead. We later insisted on the batteries, and everything was OK, but it shouldn't have been necessary to ask twice.

United KingdomThe shower head was loose and the room had a very slight damp and musty smell. The was no restaurant for evening meals and the town centre was a car journey or 90 mins walk away.
Room was very nice, the beds were comfortable and the the bathroom spaceous and modern. The bar was OK and the breakfast was nice although we only had the cold buffet. The building and location are a sight to see and with the advantage of Tesla SuC's in the 2nd car park an absolute bonus! Staff very friendly and helpfull.

United KingdomOur room was in the pavilion. The bedroom was small, the lighting was poor and the bed was very, very low. Chic but not practical. There was only one chair and there was no view.
Old Chateaux style property with a modern twist. Beautifully appointed and well maintained.

Beautiful hotel and an amazing balcony room. Just incredible Art Decor layout, with lovely lighting. The hostess and other hosts were exceptional and very friendly and helpful. It was a great experience stay at this hotel and I would highly recommend to anyone.

United KingdomWe had only a bath in our room, and would have preferred a shower. We also would have liked a minibar in the room as the bar closes quite early.
The building was beautiful, the decor remarkable, and the location superb. Very dog friendly. The breakfast was very good.

United KingdomThe room was in the garden built up against the rock face and there was a slight damp odour when we first came into the room but this was less noticeable after occupying the room. The flush to the toilet was broken but presume this was a new fault.
Interesting old chateau close to Tours close to the Loire and a cycle/walkway. As we had an outside garden room we were never in the Chateau apart from the reception area. There were Tesla Chargers just immediately inside the lower car park level. The hotel did not have a restaurant and the restaurants suggested by reception involved a drive by car. Opposite the entrance to the hotel there was lulu park and Guinguette restaurant used by locals with children's and adults play areas , dancing mini golf etc all on the banks of the Loire. We ate a hearty authentic meal at a very reasonable price. All the waiters were students working there summer holidays and were very helpful.

United KingdomOkay, so it was odd that we were the only guests, but I think it might have been possible to produce a more conventional meal than ravioli microwaved in a jar. This is a hotel, for heaven’s sake and not a cheap one, with pre-booked guests. Not unreasonable to suppose they may wish to eat. The other noticeable discomfort was the temperature. Our room was cold when we arrived, though it did warm up after we had activated the fan system. But in the dining/breakfast room it was freezing, evening and morning. Very much a feeling that it wasn’t worth warming the place for a mere two guests. We actually wished we had gone in with our coats on. One observation about the room. The bathroom door was a mirror facing onto the room. Fine. But if in the bathroom with the light on, and no light in the bedroom, the door became completely transparent. Not great if you are at all fussy about using the lavatory unobserved.
Beautiful house in a great location, a few minutes away from the autoroute and, except for the intervention of trees, with a view over the Loire. Our stay was at an unusual time, apparently, as the hotel was about to close, for a variety of reasons, Covid related and because of it being winter. Strange experience — we were the only guests. So only one member of staff evident, an exceptionally welcoming and helpful young woman on arrival and a polite and helpful young man for breakfast and departure. Our room, in the Pavillon annexe, was elegantly furnished, and the bed probably the most comfortable I have ever experienced (and that includes our own grotesquely expensive Tempur that we have at home). We chose to have a simple breakfast which was fine. Dinner another matter, see below. Generally, I would say, in normal times, a lovely place to stay.

SpainThe location was ideal for visiting the surrounding areas and only a few minutes drive from Tours. All through the buildings was black and white decor and very nice. Comfortable room in the annexe with large well equipped en suite bathroom. Fluffy towels, robes and slippers too. Breakfast was minimal but served well in the main building. Nice terrace with views across to the river Loire A big plus point is the installation of Tesla EV chargers in the grounds.

SwitzerlandMany aspects of the room, which was in an annexe, not the main building, were not practical and even uncomfortable. As someone with a little experience in hospitality, I have written a detailed report direct to the hotel The only food available in the evening (in glass jars!) was disgusting by any standards, especially for a French 4* hotel. There was a bar, but not one single bottle was on display! Breakfast was given as from 07.00. On our day of departure nothing was ready by 08.15. The position of the hotel is given as 'over the Loire'. But you can't see the river, for example, from the terrace, because the trees in front are so high.
Not much, apart from the décor, which is exceptional, if you're happy with everything in black and white! It did have a Tesla car charging park, which is clearly good for those with electric cars (ours wasn't)
