Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Perfect stop over location, couldn’t believe we were the only guests. Didn’t get a chance to try the pool as the summer was fading fast

CanadaThe one thing sadly that we do need to report is the odor. It was quite musty and if anyone is sensitive to that smell, you really need to consider your stay. it is a very old property so you do need to consider that. The space is clean and dust free. It’s just an old building, so you really need to know that it comes with a particular scent. A little more lighting in the driveway and entrance would be a good thing. We went out for dinner and returned after dark and had a hard time going up the driveway that was pitch dark. There is a motion sensor light above the door. However, if you don’t get your key prepared and you will be left waving your arms to turn it back on. Not a huge big deal, but something to consider if you are , elderly or with children. The entrance into the Château also didn’t have any lighting when we returned so thankfully, our cell phones helped us go up the stairs.
Beautiful chateau. Completely authentic, all of the decor is proper antiques. The room was spacious, high ceilings, and decorated beautifully. The views from our window were sensational. The owner is very friendly and modest. The gardens are lovely.

Hong KongThere was no wifi connection in our room, only in the breakfast room downstairs.
The chateau was what you would expect - a giant mansion with a lot of French flair to it. There's definitely history to the property but it was well maintained and clean. Breakfast was freshly made each day and the host was friendly and hopsitable. We were the only ones staying at the chateau and it was very quiet. The children loved seeing the rabbit, chickens and the dog on the property. They also opened up the pool for us which was a bonus.

United KingdomNo shower, only a bath. That's it.
A lovely chateau in splendid grounds, this is an event facility to visit. The member of staff that we met was very friendly, helpful & accommodating. Even though we were the only people staying that night, the house was warm (November). Over night, the house was near silent, aiding a truly restful sleep. Breakfast was ample & excellent quality: coffee, bread, pain au chocolat and croissant with fruit, ham & (fabulous) soft cheese. Local towns were largely closed, but Le Mans is close by and a fabulous city centre with lots of great VFM restaurants. The chateau is a good distance from/to the main road.

United KingdomThere was no hot water for our whole stay, so that included the evening and the next day (we did receive a refund after asking). The room itself was large, but has seen better days and was very tired and in desperate need of a renovation. Nothing to eat or drink within walking distance, you have to drive. Breakfast was also basic and not worth the inclusion in the overall price. The house itself is grand but again very tired and the whole stay is really not worth the amount initially charged. Very disappointing overall. Seen better days I think!
The chateau is wonderful to behold, but this is a facade and it is style over substance. Tree lined entrance exceptional. The grounds are superb if you are travelling with a dog, and it is a very peaceful setting. Parking is free and safe. The person who manages the chateau was helpful.
