- The air conditioning cooling function had apparenlty been deactivated by the hotel as they were expecting bad weather the week after my stay. It seems bizarre that this is possible and to do it when the average temperature during the day was 26C and 16C at night. It would be useful if this was explained to guests when they arrive so they don't get confused as to why the cooling button is blowing hotter air than the heating

- Friendly staff who spoke excellent english. - Hotel right next to subway station and literally across the road from a 24hr supermarket - 15mins walk from the Rhone Express Airport Tram stop, and the city centre - Free Luggage storage when you check out.

The windows had very poor sound insulation. I could hear the traffic outside. Thankfully, the road was not very busy at night.

Close to the metro system, good location, easy access via door codes, efficient design of the room, albeit small.

The location is great with the Garibaldi metro stop at the end of the road. The room and hotel was exceptionally clean. The staff were amazing and helpful. The beds were perfect. 100% would stay again

Perfect for a weekend stay. Convenient checkin and close to restaurants and a 24 supermarket. Really appreciate the welcome and the duty manager, she’s great. Always cheerful and ready to help out with information or taking care of our needs ( offering hot water, bowls and cutlery when we wanted to dine in our room).

The internet is very bad, don't rely on it. The sound insulation is not very good, you can hear the people from the next rooms.

The location is great, near the metro station, easy access to the connection to the airport or central station. Not so far from the city center, you can easily take a walk .The room is big enough and clean, they change the towels everyday. Very kind and helpful staff.

The parking lot was under an another building which is opposite the street. However, you have to go out and go to the Hotel. It was not a big problem.

Regarding the different lighting in the room, one couldn't just have one light on; it was all or a little bit more, or nothing. But it was fine. This is just a small thing.

The front desk staff and the cleaning staff were always friendly, welcoming, and professional. I felt safe at the hotel. A supermarket is right across the street in case you need something. The hotel is close to a metro stop to get to the rest of the city (or you can just walk). You can also walk to/from the Gare Part-Dieu train station in about 15/20 minutes via neighborhood streets (totally safe).

The twin room was plenty large enough to have had a larger desk, more than a single stool for sitting other than on a bed, more than a single luggage rack, some shelves and hooks. Night lights in WC and salle d'eau (and main room) would be nice. Also a stool in the salle d'eau. Lights in entry area and bed area are all on the same switch and the single reading light is awkwardly placed, so it shines directly on the other bed. If both guests retire at the same time, the lighting might be less of an issue.

Reception staff were cheerful and very helpful. I had problems with my cell phone, and they let me use a land-line at the desk to make a couple of urgent, toll-free or local calls. The bright lights in WC and salle d'eau were switched (instead of on motion sensor, as in some places). B&B Gambetta is very near the Garibaldi stop on line D, convenient for getting around. There is a 24hour 7/7 full-size Casino market across the street. Also an excellent boulangerie about 5 minutes away by foot. We did not have GPS in the rental car, and it took a long time to find the hotel, partly due to all the one-way streets (including Cours Gambetta) and the typically European, non-grid street system, but it was very easy to get to the A7 (to go south) or the A6 (to go north) from the hotel. The €12/day parking fee is worth every centime.
