Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomNo WiFi in the rooms. You have to go downstairs and sit in a very small reception area to pick it up. Even then it is very slow. No kettle or fridge in the room. Dinner was OK but overpriced and disappointing.
Great location. Ten minutes walk to the beautiful town centre. Free parking outside. Our room, although a bit dated with a very worn carpet, was spacious and clean. The hotel has a lift which is a bonus. The dinner waitress was very efficient and helpful.

United States of AmericaThere is a good effort to make this hotel better, but it fails for the price. Except for the size there is not much in this room to qualify it as a suite. No refrigerator and no coffee maker. Very cheap commercial carpet not much comfort. Parked on the street because they wanted 11 more euros to park inside. The room was already more than 200 dollars. The outside was very unkept. The internet was very slow.
The size of the room. Bathroom amenities. Fairly clean

United States of AmericaThe hotel was a 10 to 15 minute walk to the town center. The visitor's map has a great walking tour of the town. The rooms were nice and clean. There was a small bar and a restaurant in the lobby area and small outdoor seating behind the hotel. Don't forget to see The Statue of Liberty replica on the way out of town.

Great location, just a short walk into the heart of Colmar. Easy check in and very friendly helpful staff. On site parking is a real bonus in a busy town. Access in and out of the car park very good although spaces are limited. Comfortable room, which was very clean. Complementary water and cakes were a nice touch.

NetherlandsThe room was meant to have an air conditioner but apparently they were just being set up so it was not working yet. That was the most unpleasant part of the stay as it was quite hot! Apparently, they sent emails in advance to inform, but not Booking.com visitors (not sure why to be honest, there is messaging option in Booking). Luckily, they were nice enough to give us a fan which helped a bit. Also they offered us to give 40 euros per night more to upgrade to a room which had A/C set up. We didn't think it would worth it, so we didn't take the offer. The breakfast was 17 euros each, so we didn't take it, we think it's a bit too expensive for a 3 star hotel breakfast, to be honest.
The location was 10-15 min walk from the center and it had a paid private parking and plenty of free parking in front of the building. The bed was comfortable enough. The room was clean and a bit smaller than expected. The staff was nice and helpful. Bathroom had a bathtub.

United KingdomThe steep price reflected the popularity of Colmar but not the room itself. Bathroom was fairly basic, bath was small and water pressure was quite low. There is no air conditioning during the August 2022 heatwave - fan was not enough for 2 floors so the kids did struggle to sleep. WiFi was also a bit slow.
The hotel is within easy walk to the centre of Colmar, but located in lovely residential area with nice houses to look at. I appreciated that for cosy location it has a private car park. I liked that the economy family room was reasonable in size, it was the only room left when I booked it 2 days before arrived during peak tourist season in August and I expected it to be cramped.
