Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

The only thing I didn’t like was that the lady at the desk when I first arrived was very unwelcoming and rude. This wasn’t nice when I’m sceptical about staying in a hotel and travelling on my own.
Best hostel i’ve stayed in, the bar and garden were great, everything was so clean and brand new. It was a great area to work on your laptop. I felt extremely safe and loved the fact you could lock your bed. The walk into Bordeaux was not far at all. It was even better than the pictures

The soap tank in one of the washroom was empty all the time.
Nice bunk bed with a lot of privacy, great staff and not so far from downtown. The patio is also very nice.

Cooking facilities are non existent and they have a weird restriction on bringing in drink so you have to buy from the bar which isn't as cheap as a hostel should be. There is a microwave for heating food which is a bit weird but to make it worse there is no fridge or place to store food so you are left with little options as their food is average to say the least.
The garden out the back was lovely to chill and have a drink in as well as an amazing sun trap. The staff were very really friendly, informative and very helpful.

The location is slightly far from the city centre but it's near a bus stop and bike rentals.
Easily my favourite hostel during my trip here in France. Staffs are warm and helpful. They've got clean, comfortable and spacious rooms. The bunk beds were sturdy and came with lockers at the bottom. They also provided sufficient storage space. The AC was great on a hot summer's day.

A washing machine would be great (although there are several laundries nearby) and a kitchen would be useful but the hostel was exceptional so I’m just being picky!
We LOVED this hostel, it was nicer than many hotels we have stayed in. The staff were all LOVELY - friendly and kind, speaking careful French to my teenage son who is learning. The hostel is beautifully decorated, our room was great and very comfortable. We appreciated the aircon in the heatwave. Secure storage for our bikes. A very reasonably priced breakfast buffet which hit the spot well. This was our favourite hotel of the trip.

Probably the cleanest hostel I’ve ever been to. A very nice terrace. Good breakfast for a good price. Very nice reception. Totally recommend

There was no fridge or kitchen. Also towels were not included but could be rented for a extra charge. These are minor quibbles though. It was excellent overall.
Staff were amazing. Very friendly helpful. Sleeping pods provide good privacy, were clean and had good storage.

Everything was good but the parking was expensive. It was 20 EUR per night.
I didn't eat there. But the location was very good.

Best for younger people traveling lightly. Necessarily there is a lack of privacy in the sleeping rooms. This is a hostel; not an AirBnB.
Continental breakfast. Not an English breakfast. But very good. Outdoor garden was lovely for sitting and reading and socializing. Indoor facilities were comfortable for working, eating, relaxing. All in all one of the best hostels you will ever find.

One of the best hostels I've ever visited in my life! Very clean, very caring and every detail was thought out. The beds are spacious, there are many shelves for things, shower and toilet are in the dormitory room and it is also very clean. The staff is friendly and always ready to help.

The location was a bit far away with few public transport options-about 25min walk to the train station but 30+ to the city centre
I had a great stay at Bloom hostel. Clean, comfortable rooms and plenty of working spaces. Very friendly and helpful staff too!
