To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

NetherlandsThe internet on the main tv did not work, and when asked to get it fixed it never got fixed. The jaccuzi's main functions worked, but not the others, which was okay for us. We did not receive any toilet articles like shampoo or soap. Also we received only 1 toilet paper roll. We had a coffee machine but there was not any coffee. And the design of the shower was very inconvenient, the whole bathroom got wet and stayed wet. The mirror above the bed is also distorted like those funny mirrors. Also there is no washing machine?
The jacuzzi was the best, the place was also really clean and the bed was very comfortable

United KingdomThe floor & steps to the jacuzzi could get slippery when wet, I didn't find there was anything to hold on to when going in out of the water and up and down the steps, I would have liked a kettle with mugs for making tea. I would have liked to get out of the bed on the side rather than the bottom of it would have made it much easier for me there wasn't quite enough room down the side of the bed to walk as it was close to the wall.
It was very clean and comfortable, the jacuzzi was lovely and fun, so were the bed and rooms, the bed was clean, soft and comfortable with underlighting, it was very lovely in day light too the next morning, the lighting and clouds and decor were great & enjoyable, comfy sofa for 2, there was 2 toothbrushes, 2 gowns and enough towels and bedding. there was a microwave, glasses, cutlery, coffee maker and small fridge that was empty. large window and air con. the host was wonderful, helpful and friendly, good value for money, we would definitely book again.
