The windows had the old metal blinds, so to sleep well wasn’t possible. The light in the morning Came in. The mattress and the pillow were not comfortable. The air conditioner didn’t work well, may be because of the heat. But the most inconvenient and strange were the persons who worked in the hotel. First of all, in the letter from the hotel in Booking messenger we got the information where they informed us if we wouldn’t respond to their letter and if we were going to arrive later than 18.00 they will Resale!!! Our room to another person! Just imagine! This case! If any person would missed the letter and wouldn’t respond it -they threatened to resale it in spite of the fact that the room was already payed! Another horrible thing - we had left the room in the morning and had left the plaque Do not disturb. When we returned we found that someone had entered and had made the bed, touched our things. How is it possible, just how could it be? No privacy at all! And finally when we were leaving the hotel at check out the only thing that the woman at reception told us in French -6 Euros. That’s it! Nothing more! Only this. We had to pay the taxes, and that’s ok with us, of course! But usually on reception in a good hotels they wish you a good trip and say something like thank you for your visit . And etc..But in this hotel they didn’t like to do it.. So I think that the most important problem in this hotel is with stuff who works there . They really should learn the norms and rules of hospitality. And everything will be good .

Beautiful castle not far from Sarlat la Caneda. We love the place where it is located. It has a swimming pool and it was great to chill there when the temperature was almost 40 degrees. It’s very quiet and the room was comfortable.

The furniture in the room is a little dated, but the bed was comfortable.

Decor is old fashioned and could do with a makeover but it was still very comfortable.

The owner was a bit prikerly ,Breakfast really cheap could probably charge more then add cereals and fruit.Also needs a vending machine in the property as you can’t get cold drink from the hotel

We found the lack of bar facilities strange and the ban on food and drink, it would have been great to be able to sit on the terrace with a glass of wine each evening

The staff have no concept of customer relation. One especially was very rood and made us feel very unwelcome. There was nobody to talk to if we needed anything. Just made it very unpleasant for us. The staff were in great contrast to such a beautiful place.

The owner, location and rules. It is a nice hotel but situated at the top of a VERY steep and long hill, certainly only the most fit would even contemplate a walk back from town! There is no facility to provide any food other than breakfast, when bizarrely there is only a cup and saucer but no plate. ‘Picnic’ is not permitted anywhere. Our group of five had a bottle of wine and a few small items on the verandah and I received a reminder email of the rules at 7.30pm. The only time we got the hint of a smile from the owner was as we were leaving. in the right hands it could be a lovely place but I’m afraid it is the most unwelcome any of us have felt at any hotel!
