Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

We had the option of parking for our car in private parking, but we were able to find safe street parking. The staff were lovely, carrying our luggage upstairs, as there is no lift. The hotel was a short walk to the medieval walled city

I wasn’t keen on the bedroom decor but that’s personal taste.
The location was perfect being situated equidistant from the medieval city and the town centre.

The shower try had some mould could have been easily cleaned, same as its the only complaint.
Great location 5 minutes walk to city walls, we did not have breakfast, its run by pleasant couple, we were out all day and only came back to sleep, would recommend.

To be honest, there was nothing wrong
The room was big and clean for the 4 of us. The team was excellent, flexible with last minute changes and always available when needed. The view of the castle is amazing. It is just 5min walking to the castle and really close to the city centre. The place is really quiet. Breakfast is really good with local products.

Nothing we didn't like personally. Be aware there is no elevator to rooms on upper floors.
Historic, comfortable, clean hotel in a great location near the medieval cite of Carcassonne and with excellent cafes nearby . Newly renovated bathroom with great rainfall showerhead and heated towel rack. Very helpful, knowledgable owners. Nice buffet breakfast. Great rooftop viewing spot of fortress.

It would have been helpful to have a kettle in the room, although there was a coffee machine.
Superb location in an old, pretty district, close to the citadel. Amazing view over the ancient citadel from the roof terrace. The buffet breakfast was excellent, a wide choice. Hosts were very welcoming and helpful.

Nothing wrong with the hotel, just be aware Carcassonne is very quiet out of season and not all bars and restaurants are open
Great location for the medieval city. Bars and restaurants close by Rooms were very clean and comfortable Excellent value for money I'd definitely go back

It’s proximity to both the Cité & the Bastide. The hotel was spotless the rooms & beds were beautifully decorated & comfortable & the owners were very friendly & helpful.

Lovely hotel in narrow Street with plenty of little bars & restaurants, tucked away under medieval city walls. A great location for either old or new city , stroll along river or take a boat trip on canal, plenty of choice 😀.Hotel has a pretty courtyard garden in which to have breakfast or just sit and relax. Rooms a good size & kept spotlessly clean ! We had a great time, what's not to like . 😀😀👍

Best view ever from the cute little roof top terrace with a bottle of wine bought from the hotel. The owners were lovely and nothing was any trouble.
