Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaThe room we stayed in did not have any curtains or blinds on the window. Whilst the views of the creek and mountains was fantastic, the room became bright early in the morning
Roberto and his team were exceptionally friendly welcoming and were eager to make our stay enjoyable. We opted to have dinner at the restaurant- it is in a room overlooking the creek and mountain's. Roberto explained the day’s menu choices to us and the dishes we selected were delicious - simple but fresh and homemade. We also opted to have breakfast at the restaurant - a cold continental breakfast - croissants, bread with local honey, homemade jam, cereal, fruit, fruit juice and tea or coffee. All the staff were friendly and had some English language skills They tried to answer any questions we had despite our very limited understanding of French

United KingdomBathrooms are a little tired, which we were aware of before arriving based on other reviews.
Robbie and his wife are fantastic hosts, who made us feel very welcome. He made our trip! Dinner at the hotel was really good and excellent value. La Brigue is a great place to stay if you want a mountain holiday. The local community is warm and welcoming.

FranceThe bathroom was a little too tight but all else fine and nicely decorated and clean I had to leave on the 13 and not stay the second night and owner did not charge me but asked if I could make the room available on your site - impossible to do that - disappointed with you as always had good relations
The location I’d central to the village - the breakfast was generous with delicious local yogurt and owner was extremely pleasant

It’s fairly basic but clean and comfortable rooms. Evening dinner in the restaurant was fantastic, the chef uses lots of local produce. Breakfast was good and the owner and staff were really nice!

United States of AmericaThe proprietor Robi was a classic - he represents the best of France. He was jovial, friendly and helpful. We felt like we were visiting a friend instead of staying at an impersonal hotel. The location is a short drive to where we started our hike in Mercantour National Park.

United States of AmericaThis is a lovely hotel in a village of 200 people in the Alps. The owner, Robert, was very kind and drove me to and from the train station to the hotel as I didn't realize there were no taxis. The restaurant's food was excellent, and I would have loved to have stayed for breakfast but I had to catch an early train. I would like to come up from Nice and stay again in the summer in order to do some hiking.

United KingdomNothing.
La Brigue is a lovely village in the Roya Valley. We arrived quite late after a long day walking in the beautiful Parc du Mercantour and the hotel and restaurant were very busy, but we were well looked after by Robby. Our room was basic, but clean and comfortable with a view of the (sadly dried up) river Levenza. Good evening meal in the restaurant and we enjoyed the breakfast with local figs and yogurt. A good experience, would definitely return and recommend. Merci à tous!

United States of AmericaWe could list things that could be better but that would not really be consistent with what we were expecting or what we paid. Would a larger bathroom have been nice - sure - but given the rate we paid, we were quite happy with the room and the facility overall.
We stayed here for 2 nights in late-May and can say for certain it is the type of place we look for when we travel, especially when our primary plan is to hike. It is a small, well managed, clean property that is family owned and operated, which in this case translated into friendly and great service. Our room had everything we needed, was clean and a nice view of the mountains, with the sound of the river outside our window at night. We enjoyed happy hour on the front patio after hiking each day but what really made Hôtel Fleur des Alpes special, in addition to the great staff, was the restaurant. We had dinner here both nights and the food was excellent. It seems clear they try to use local products whenever possible. We also enjoyed breakfast each day, which is included in the rate. Again, we love finding well run properties that focus on their guests and provide great value – we hope to return to this property again someday as it exceeded our expectations in every way.
