Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IrelandThe room was very small with barely enough space to get around the bed. We got a twin but there was about an inch between the beds which defeats the purpose. However it was clean and comfortortable. There were no tea/coffee making facilities which we are used to. The breakfast was only ok, cold buffet only and not a very wide offering but what was there was tasty and fresh.
The location was excellent, perfect for walking around the city centre, close to public transport links and the main tourist sites. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The air con worked really well as it was very warm when we were there.

IrelandThe lack of cleanliness. Not immediately apparent but there was a stain on the mattress and the area outside the window was disgusting. Low budget facilities should mean a lack of cleanliness. With credit to management, they offered another room for us and some complementary drinks. However I still feel the problem areas should have been cleaned.
The room was overall pleasant and just as you might expect for a hotel of this price-bracket. The common areas and the overall hotel was clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

United KingdomMore space in room would have been good. Quite hard to find as it is part of the Mecure, so didn't see the Ibis sign immediately.
Room was small, but excellent value for money. Staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. Nice bar and reception area. Fantastic quality breakfast definitely worth the extra few pounds.

United KingdomNo toilet brush in the bathroom was a nuisance. The sheet on our bed was very poorly fitted, and the mattress constantly moved with every turn in the bed. There was an unexplained fire alarm set off with no one to tell us what to do, and the lift stopped working on one occasion.
The location is excellent, within walking distance of most of Caen's tourist attractions and the shopping centre. The staff were very helpful and friendly, and breakfast was excellent. The wheelchair accessible room and shower room were a good size and well thought out.

United KingdomThe room we were given was fitted out for disabled people and overlooked the entrance to the underground car park. We only arrived late and the night receptionist was on duty. If we hadn't been so tired we would have complained but for one night we put up with it and the bed was ok. Not a nice room at all and we paid 125 euros.!!!
We had an overnight stay travelling from the ferry terminal at Caen. Good location, decent breakfast.

United KingdomThe very small rooms.
The room was a lot smaller than we expected after having used IBIS Hotels in the past. We had three suitcases with us as we were on a long vacation and we were literally living out of the suitcases and shuffling them about every day. I asked for a larger room and the receptionist said that all rooms were the same size. We just accepted the fact the room was so small. We used the lounge areas for comfort and lounging. The room was kept clean and fresh sheets were put on the bed mid-week. Breakfast was very good with a large choice of food and drink on display and the staff were helpful. However. there were no bananas. The secure underground car park was a useful bonus.
