Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe shower soap was empty. The building was quite small so challenging but the architects had done well. Parking was hit and miss.
A few extra facilities compared to a?Premiere Classe or B & B

France. The problem with the electricity was somehow my fault and the staff member had a bad attitude. The wifi needs upgrading.
Convenient location near station. I stayed one night before joining a cruise. The room was clean and comfortable. Two bad points a) the WiFi was very unreliable, b) there was a problem at breakfast with the electricity. The egg boiler was cold so I turned it on to cook an egg. That tripped a fuse and the coffee machine also went off. The woman staff member came and scolded me. The machine should have been on already - I never got an egg and the coffee machine kept going off. This was somehow my fault?! A shame as until then I was enjoying my stay. I would use the hotel again for convenience and price but I wouldn't bother with the breakfast.

United KingdomThis is due to my size but the shower is too small for me. For smaller people I guess this may not be an issue.
It was well located and my room was very spacious.

United KingdomThe bathroom is very….cosy, and you practically need to reverse into the toilet to use it. The downstairs bar and restaurant was closed, which was a shame. The breakfast was continental and pretty basic. The hotel is old but lacks a bit of ‘charm’.
Location is great for walking around the city. Within 15 minutes you’ll find yourself by the dockside, where there are lots of bars and restaurants (and a cool craft brewery bar) to choose from. Convenient for the main railway station and tram too.

FranceThe heater isnt working. Its cold in the room even with small portable heater that they provided. The curtains is broken, i have to fix it myself for some privacy.
The room was huge. There’s extra bed. All the lines are clean and soft. The bathroom is quite huge as well. The only problem is the heater since its not working but the staff are very responsive and gave us the solution. Overall we are satisfied.

United KingdomA few things could do with a bit of love, a bit of a refresh and/or just an on-site handyman, but this wouldn't be enough to put me off staying here again in future.
The Hôtel Le Marignan looks like it might have seen slightly better days; a few things are broken (like the bracket for the shower head) and other things look a little tired. But the staff are very friendly and accommodating, the beds are extremely comfortable, the breakfast is pretty good and the location is good - particularly good if you need access to the train station.

United KingdomLocation is such that it can get a bit noisy, but that wasn't a problem at all for me - the rooms are well isolated.
I was very pleased with my stay at the hotel! The location, just opposite the train station and 20' walk to the centre of Le Havre (well worth a visit!!) - was perfect for me. Staff were very friendly and check in and check out were very smooth. The room was very spacious and luminous, beautifully decorated, with a nice view and with an excellent bathroom and shower. The bed was big and super comfortable. The best thing? A coffee machine with a great collection of coffee capsules/flavours! I thought that was a truly nice touch, an excellent gesture, and I wish all hotels, including some who charge much more, were that generous! Un grand merci, I would warmly recommend!

RussiaIt is sad that there were no slippers and bathrobe, but it was not promised so I can say it’s more my wish than some obligatory stuff. The lack of soundproof: you can literally hear all neighbours and water flushes :(
My room was perfect for one night stay: small, clean and very warm! The staff is nice and they explained everything to me in detail. Location is truly great (~20 minutes from the centre and 30 minutes from the beach by walk), especially if you wish to travel also somewhere outside Le Havre: the bus/train station is really close, plus there are at least 2 grocery stores nearby.

United States of AmericaOur room and the breakfast room especially were quite cold without a way to change the temperature. An odd feature of the room is that the bathroom door is glass and is therefore transparent. This was remedied by covering with the spread from the foot of the bed, but still a bit odd.
The location is fantastic near to the bus and train station. There are restaurants nearby as well as in the center which is about a 25 minute walk. The breakfast was pleasant with croissants, cereals, yogurts, fruit, breads, jams, sliced meats, and hard boiled eggs, as well as tea, coffee, and juice.

United KingdomWeb site said that "Parking Available". It was. On the street same as everyone else, and there was not much available. I was OK because I have a Disabled badge, so I parked in a Disabled Bay - but unaware as to whether the French accepted a UK Blue Badge - Spain does not - but definitely NOT HAPPY to have to park my Bentley on the main street all night.
