Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomDelightful and very interesting location and most welcoming and helpful hosts. Kindly upgraded us as we were the only guests which was much appreciated. Our breakfasts were good quality with best quality baguettes and croissant that were impossible to resist. Our 4 course evening meals were absolutely delicious in every way with excellent wine accompanying. Our hosts Claire and Bertrand could not have been more kind and friendly and we were sorry to leave at the end of our stay. Good location for exploring several chateaux in the area and sampling the excellent wine.

La Chancellerrie is a lovely place. We stayed here with our 4 young children for 3 nights. The appartement was very well equiped. The breakfast was tasteful and we had dinner one night which was terrific. The owners where very kind and helpful. Our car broke down 7 km before the accomodation and they picked us up with two cars! We hired good bikes (aldo possible for the kids) and cycyled to the wunderful chateau d’ussé (kasteel van Doornroosje). Of course we loved the beautiful garden with good swimming area, big trampoline and more toys (balls, pingpong, yeux des boules) thank you for this terrific stay!

United KingdomBeautiful building and grounds, with a very welcome swimming pool. We’re travelling with a dog and a great deal of luggage …. so a room up a spiral staircase wasn’t ideal, but very cool and spacious when we arrived. Dinner was very good with good company.

NetherlandsThat we fould have stayed longer but that was our one mistake :-)
Bertrand and Claire are very entertaining for their guest, organizing a generose welcome party in the 14th century wine cave. They are very good cooks too. So don’t foreger to order a evening meal. The swimming pool is at 27 degrees Celcius.

A house with a history in a beautiful village location. Superb host who was happy to share his knowledge on a wide variety of subjects. We stayed in the main house accessed by very narrow stairs but there are rooms around the courtyard.

BrazilDespite my passion for history and historical places, sadly - I must say - I'm a little allergic to dust. I did get trouble to sleep but my wife slept well.
Since the first sight, La Chancellerie take us back in time. We find ourselves in an idyllic place where life revolves around nature and it's beauty. The hosts were very generous and thoughtful, they told us the history around this wonderful building. We felt welcome right away.

GermanyThe annoying thing is that when booking on the website shown final price of 304 euros for two nights, but in fact you pay 321.36 with various taxes plus breakfast (not included in this price). A large number of negative aspects of the hotel. Obviously when booking you have to contact the owners directly and talk about the room, because if you are taller than 160 cm and you get a small room under the roof with slanted ceilings and lots of ceiling beams, you bump your head constantly, day and night, and walking through the room in the dark is a real quest. The toilet is behind a plywood wall, which means your partner/family can hear all the sounds you make. In addition, access to the room is only through the kitchen with a low doorway and a very steep, narrow staircase, dragging a heavy suitcase or small child up is almost unrealistic. The breakfast is standard: stale fruit, sausage, cheese, marmalade, butter, lots of bread, flakes, limited coffee and milk. It's hard to imagine how much larger rooms with normal ceilings cost if you get a room like this for that price. The price/quality ratio is disappointing.
From the outside, everything is very attractive - a beautiful garden, a swimming pool, a building like a small castle or a bourgeois house. Great location, friendly hotel owners who speak English and German (a rare and valuable quality in France, where most people working in tourism, speak only French).
