Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomTravelling by car to ththe car park can be quite tricky due to lots of no entry signs in the town centre but we found it eventually.
Wow what a property, and the location is amazing. It’s central but in a quieter part of town. We slept with the windows open and it was so peaceful and we were woken by bird song. The host ghislain is so welcoming and very knowledgeable about local restaurants etc. parking is close by and underground and really safe. The architecture is stunning the room was stunning and Dinan is stunning. What a hotel thank you so so much.

AustraliaSpace is confined but that is a consequence of the age of the house which is its best feature.
The old house is charming, as are the hosts. It is fabulous to be able to stay in a house so old and yet so well modernised. There are some constraints on internal access because of the nature and age of the house but that did not concern us.

FranceBreakfast was excellent. The room was very comfortable and clean. The common rooms were quiet and relaxing---great spaces to read a book and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee (freely available 24 h/day). The host/manager was very friendly and helpful. The opportunity to spend the night in a 16th century medieval house (with all the modern conveniences) was a truly unique and wonderful experience. A great choice if you visit Dinan.

United States of AmericaWe stayed in the top room and the stairs were a bit treacherous, but because of the age of the house it cannot be avoided. I would probably request a lower room, but the more interesting rooms are higher up.
It’s was beautifully designed, with the perfect balance of preserved history and modern comforts and aesthetic. The host was incredibly helpful and friendly. The common rooms were an unexpected comfort and the location cannot be beat. We would definitely return.

JerseyThere was a lack of cupboard space for clothes in our room with only one small hanging rail. Ok for 2 nights but would not be great for longer stays.
The location was perfect for walking into Dinan centre. The room was very comfortable for a 2 night stay and the breakfast was excellent. Access to the room was via a narrow steep staircase which would be difficult for less mobile guests.

AustraliaNothing. Oh, wait, the weather was a bit unpredictable.
The location, the ambience, the decor, the quality fittings, fixtures, linen. We just loved everything about La Maison Pavie. It’s so close to everything, yet removed from the busy centre. We didn’t get to meet Sophie, but Ghislain was an amazing, friendly, helpful, informative and always available host. It seemed that nothing was an imposition. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and would stay nowhere else if we return to Dinan.

United States of AmericaJust minor things. Split bathroom a bit awkward as sink far from WC. Only single plugs by both bedsides and room lamp meant choosing between charging phones and lamp use. A split adapter would help this.
Great location and lovely boutique renovation of historic building. Lounge and breakfast rooms are charming. Bed and linens were comfy. Staff were all thoughtful, helpful and friendly. We were able to check in early and put bikes inside.

United KingdomNo additional suggestions. Not a place to go if you have difficulty climbing steep narrow stairs!
La Maison Pavie is a beautiful medieval timbered house in the historic part of the city, very atmospheric. Sophie and Ghislane have done a wonderful job though of making it very comfortable and have decorated the interiors combining the modern and the very old in a delightful way with lost of art from IndoChina too. Just next to the church but the bells are not intrusive and only a short walk from bars and cafes . Breakfast was laid out on a long communal table and was delicious, fresh pastries, lots of healthy things too! Wish we had booked to stay for a couple of nights but this was our last stop before heading home to the UK
