Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

DenmarkThe bathroom was a bit run down - our soap dispenser didn’t properly work. Also, for a person of 1.85m the ceiling can be a bit low, especially in the bathroom (slanted rooftop ceiling)
Even though the room was a bit tiny, it really didn’t feel that way. The way the furniture is layed out really helps. Everything was super beautiful and we had an amazing time in this place.

United States of AmericaThe 3rd story room we had would be a problem if you are taller people. Bathroom was very small and had low ceilings. Also staff was not there late as we are used to with other hotels so hard to ask about parking, restaurants to eat at etc.
This hotel was charming and clean. The staff was friendly and made us feel welcome! The building is beautiful and like a picture out of a story book. Breakfast was fresh and delicious.

BelgiumThere was an issue with key delivery and it wasn't possible to lock the door without it. It didn't prevent access to the room but it was a bit "unsafe". Location is great if you come by train, otherwise parking is complicated. Breakfast is a bit simple: coffee, juice, fruits, yogurt, some bread, cheese and ham, all displayed on a small cupboard.
Wonderful place in an actual historic hotel from the 18th century. The "White Room" is in the attic and there's no elevator, so be careful if you have heavy luggages. The facilities are eco conscious if it is important for you.

United KingdomHard to find - needs bigger sign. Also when booking not clear that one of suites has 2 bedrooms rooms. I therefore paid for 2 rooms when one was fine. Raised it with owner but he didn't offer anything.

AustraliaThere was not much not to like, it’s not a complaint, but a hot breakfast would be great….
We loved the friendly staff as well as the rooms - we stayed with three others (couple and a single) we had the vert room and the others had the blanch and rose rooms at the top of the house. I would request a lower room if you have a lot of heavy luggage as the access to the rooms is via an ancient stone spiral staircase, which is part of the charm of such an old and beautiful building. Our room was huge with a walk in robe, and separate toilet. The bathroom is very well appointed. Our breakfast was only Continental, which was fine, beautiful artisan breads, locally sourced yogurts as well as sliced meats and fromage. I don’t eat carbs so found this limiting as I usually start my day with bacon and an egg, it just meant I got to enjoy a bigger lunch…. Overall we would totally stay again, access to and from the Gare is under €10 for a taxi, or if you don’t have much luggage the tram stops at Chateau and you can walk about 400meters to the Inn, it’s a really easy walk. There is lots to see and do and if you are there on Friday morning the markets are a must see.

AustraliaI couldn't get the shower much more than warm.. but that may well have been aussie operator error
We were given the beautiful rose room at the top of the chateau. The gentleman that greeted us was so welcoming & enthusiastic. There was no lift, which 3 fights up a stone spiral staircase with suitcases was.. not insurmountable but was a little dismaying. This is something that is not unique to this property in Europe.. so all good. However the gentleman just hoiked my case & carried it up for me. I was surprised & greatful. He also gave us great info on places to eat etc.

CrimeaNo complaints at all.
The rooms were exactly as described but even prettier - a lovely, charming, well-lit suite. The beds were extremely comfortable and had nice pillows and linens. In fact, the whole suite was well-equipped - kitchen, towels, everything was just as we would need it, good quality and laid out well. It was just as nice as in the photos!

United KingdomCheck in disastrous, despite pre information there was no manning between 5 to 7pm, diy if you are lucky enough to pick up an iMessage (not using data roaming in Europe so we didn’t). Another guest let us in and we rescued another guest the following night. Made for extremely stressful arrival. Having spent a week in many hotels in Normandy this was the most expensive.
Excellent convenient position to access main sights of Caen and get out to the Normandy beaches. Oasis of peace tucked away off busy square. Room enormous and very comfortable - had a big bar fridge which was handy for looking after cheese to take home!

United KingdomSignage for the Hotel, also meant to let the staff know (but forgot.).the toilet seat in Chambre Rose was loose… No parking in grounds of hotel…understandably ,but we parked right outside.
Firstly, the hotel is in a good position to explore Caen but our sat nav failed to find it,we had to go around the block four times, and eventually parked and found it on foot..it’s not easily distinguishable as an hotel from the roadside. The Hotel is extremely clean and a very interesting building with a fabulous spiral stone stair case,we stayed in Chambre Rose which was at the very top of the Hotel ,might be a difficult room for anyone elderly,or with mobility issues. Very comfortable ,spacious bedroom and bed, with good quality linen and towels, shampoo and body wash in bathroom and hairdryer. Suit stand and iron available ,mini bar, though we didn’t use it…tea, coffee ,water again didn’t use it as wasn’t sure how the coffee pod machine worked The Manager is very communicative and gave us regular updates about check in and directions …and offered suggestions for evening meal locally and routes and maps. Breakfast was a yogurt, fresh fruit, croissants, baguette a ,fresh fruit juice, two different jams and coffee, tea or hot chocolate
