Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Lovely old house with lots of character, very clean and comfortable, super breakfast. Owner Anne very welcoming and helpful in arranging booking in local restaurant. Will definitely plan to return when next looking to stay in the Calais area.

Everything was perfect.
Our hostess Anne did everything possible to make our stay really special. The breakfast was absolutely fantastic. The room was beautifully appointed, spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable.

The breakfast exceeded our expectations and included gluten free items. The garden was beautiful but unfortunately it was too cool and windy to enjoy it fully.

There’s nothing not to like! If you’re in a car, stay here. If you’re on foot, be aware that it is a couple of kms out of Wissant - but worth the walk .
This is a large ,beautiful house in a peaceful hamlet outside Wissant, with large airy rooms and a comfortable bed. Anne is an incredible host - I was on foot and she arranged a taxi for me, and also lent me her own bicycle. Breakfast was also brilliant with ingredients from Anne’s garden.

This is a perfect stop over for Le Shuttle, less than 20 minutes away. It is utterly charming and close to Wissant where there are several restaurants.

Lovely quite location but very close to the lovely village of Wissant. Anne was amazing, our ferry was 5 hrs late, which ment we were arriving late, Anne was very helpful and acomadating given our late arrival. The accommodation was very clean and well kept, breakfast was first class and had a lovely relaxed feeling. Would definitely return.

In a quiet rural location near Wissant, we had a clean and comfortable room with free water and tea/coffee facilities. There was also a nice garden to sit out in. Delicious continental breakfast included in room price with some home made products including cakes, yoghurts and jams. Anne the host was lovely and couldn’t have been more helpful. Highly recommended.

A warm welcome from our hostess, beautiful setting and charming house. Thoughtful attention to detail and the comfort of visitors. Generous and healthy breakfast, friendliness. We enjoyed the spaciousness, comfort of our room and bathroom. Excellent shower!

I really cannot fault it: everything was perfect.
Exceptional owner: warm, friendly and helpful. Provided a wide range of excellent homemade produce for breakfast and took evident pride in both her lovely home and the quality of her food. Would definitely stay there again.

We loved everything about the place and cannot think of anything negative
Ideal location, before heading to UK or starting a journey from the UK. Ideal also for a longer stay as so close to the coast. Wonderful fresh produce for breakfast. Just superb - very friendly yet extremely professional.
