To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

SwitzerlandI've put a rating to 1, just because i think it is overrated. Maybe this property is around 5 (money/quality ratio). There are several problems with it: - it was simply dirty, i mean for such price it is bad - this apartment is small and tries to have everything in it: sauna, Jacuzzi, lights, etc, But everything is so fragile that at the end you have nothing ) - 1000 euro deposit... - the atmosphere is just vulgar and uncomfortable Maybe i'm not a target audience, but it is what it is.

United KingdomDirty. Clearly not had a deep-clean in years. Told not to use the hob, so what was the point in having one? Entrance to flat very poor. Plaster peeling off the walls. Shower damaged. Mould on walls in bathroom. Horribly overpriced for what it was.

CanadaA few features require attention and this detracted from overall perfection - for the price I wouldn’t expect any items in need of repair (i.e. broken shower faucethandle). The kitchenette isn’t setup for preparing meals and is limited to use of bar fridge, microwave and coffee maker. The cutlery set doesn’t even include a dinner knife. The Jacuzzi is a nice feature but the water temperature can’t be adjusted (another repair needed). We found the dry sauna unimpressive.
Small apartment-style accommodation in the 7th arrondissement, less than a 5-minute walk to Jean Macé tram/metro stations. The room is beautifully decorated, bed is very comfy large double. The neighbourhood seemed quiet, there’s an Intermarché on the next street over, and a good selection of restaurants within 10-20 min walk. The host met us at the apartment and walked us through the use of facilities and was very easy to communicate with.
