Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Perfect for one night stop over, as the rooms are small. Mattress and pillows were too thin. Right in the center of the village but unfortunately when we came off season everything was closed.
Family hotel, with friendly staff, clean, brand new simple bathrooms and well located, with parking space, and dog friendly! Breakfast was simple but good. Fireplace in the main room gave it an extra cozy feel.

Relatively small bunk bed for the 4th adult person. (But we do not need it)

GYM is outdated and many devices has seen better days, breakfast is very basic
Room isn't big but its divided to 2 rooms which is great for a family, toilet and shower are separated as well, a huge advantages when 4 people are staying in the same room. Amazing view from the windows, balcony, room was very clean and recently renovated, free parking is available near the hotel and you have option for a great and unique (local) dinner in the hotel but the main advantage is the great team running this hotel, super friendly and helpful (special thanks to Emmanuelle).

The staff was very friendly and there was a safe garage for my bicycle. Since my last stay in 2012, the room have been refurbished very nicely and are now very comfortable. I also liked the dinner, which was very well prepared and not just the standard stuff. The croissant and bread at breakfast were very good.

Maybe thicker pillows. Otherwise superb.
Felt at home as soon as we walked in. Lovely ground floor area with bar, sofas, dining area. Run by a lovely couple and great care taken to use local produce. Lovely renovation of a lovely building. Excellent continental breakfast - strawberry jam to die for!

air conditioner didn’t seem to work, no hairdryer, draft excluder on door dragged, soap dispenser didn’t work, road noise intrusive with windows opened.

Beautifully renovated and spacious room. Breakfast with local produces. Officially b&b but beats many small hotels. Good base for exploring mountains nearby.

I’m genuinely puzzled by the high rating and rave reviews of this place. It’s one of the worst experiences I’ve had in a long time. The room was very noisy. I heard literally everything the neighbours were doing and for some reason wandering around in the middle of the night, opening the creaky door was one of them:/ Secondly, the room was simply too hot as there’s no there’s no airconditioning—and this in late September/early October. Can’t imagine what the room must be like in July. And to top it off, I was refused a meal because they didn’t want to tarnish their restaurant’s “good name”… As I booked one day in advance, the restaurant couldn’t organise a dinner for me—this is apparently only available to those who’d booked in advance (what exactly “in advance” means, remains a mystery tbh). Regardless, this “rule” was not clearly communicated up front. Had I known, I’d have picked up some food on the road. I’d have been grateful for a slice of bread, because all other restaurants in the village were closed, but I wasn’t offered anything. Instead, I was simply told “Go to Valberg”, which is 40 minutes there and back. I’d just done 8 hours on the road, so the last thing I wanted was to do another 40 minutes on a dark mountain road. I’m so thoroughly disappointed with their service, especially when seeing other guests having their meal (and only 3 out of 5 tables with actual guests, so it wasn’t like they were fully booked). It was also kind of humiliating to be sent away like that in front of other guests. Pretty horrible experience overall.
