We like to open the window for ventilation during the night. It was a little difficult to have it open due to the curtain design.

Very nice large room and very comfortable beds. The courtyard with the pool and garden was a wonderful oasis to relax in. The staff very friendly as we had an issue with the coffee machine in the room, and they tried the best to fix this.

The breakfast was incredible, very filling and the waiters were very attentive. The pool was unfortunately closed with a protective cover, I think because it was still early spring. We used the couple's massage at the spa, which was wonderful, but I didn't like that we needed to change floors (that is, leave the spa area) to have the massage in an adapted room decorated for couples' massages.

Parking facility with valet parking Needs to be clearer explained to the guests. I understood that there was a garage, then I was told it could be outside or garage.. There were 3 flies in the room which Is weird. Even if window Is opened during cleaning, flies cannot be left inside for the next client.

I was very disturbed by the cost of a minibar Pepsi when I saw my final bill: 9 Euros for a Pepsi seems excessive. I would have not mentioned it if it weren't for the fact that it came as a total surprise: there was no price indication in the room about drinks in the minibar and I assumed a normal markup, but 9 Euros is extravagant even in the most sophisticated bars in the area, let alone in one's room, specially if there is no warning.

Staff was very friendly and competent. Room was very clean, very comfortable, spacious and pleasantly decorated (contemporary style). Bathroom was also perfectly clean, modern and very spacious. No view but quiet room on the third floor (no noise from street). About 10 minutes walk to the city center, slightly downhill. Pleasant walk, stores and restaurants along the way.

The indoor pool was quite cold and the pool and spa area was very small so not ideal when the outdoor pool is closed as it can get busy.

The concierge and front staff were fantastic, our room was spacious, comfortable and kept very clean. The location was fantastic and we slept well.

Right at the heart of Aix en Provence, the hotel has everything you need - spacious comfy rooms, good food - breakfasts are super and with the added benefits of a great outdoor pool, gym and spa. They also provide a free valet parking service. Staff were super friendly.

For a 5 star hotel, breakfast was disappointing. You had to make your own coffee, and the machine was constantly empty. The hot food had also clearly been out all morning and was luke warm when we arrived at 9am

The kids enjoyed the pool but it was a bit too deep for my daughter to stand in.

We booked a family room which was a generous size with everything that we needed. The beds were very comfortable and the kids were very excited about using the robes and slippers. Everyone enjoyed the breakfast options everyday. Our car was able to fit into the parking with our roof box on, this may seem like an insignificant thing but in other places, we have had to remove it, park the car and then walk the box back in and attach to the car. Then do it all again when it was time to leave.

The staff at the pool were exceptional. Every one of them was the best example of customer service I have seen in a long time. They never faulted being polite or helpful even on days that were at extremely high temperatures while walking around in long pants and shirts. Always a smile and friendly hello. The concierge team, front desk and room cleaning staff were also on top of their game but the pool team did stand out for me. Kudos to Renaissance Hotel, for whatever you are doing with your staff it's working for your guests. Thank you.

The neighbourhood is a bit odd and directly outside the hotel it felt unsafe at night with gaggles of guys hanging out drinking - and leaving that mess in the morning. But it is a short walk to the center of the city.

They were very welcoming to children. From a little activity pack and children specific bath soaps, and the pool which was a big hit.

This is our second visit to this hotel in less than a year. Our room wasn’t ready for us when we arrived at 4pm and when we did get into it we felt it was not as clean as it should be. On the whole we thought the standard of cleanliness in our room and in the hotel could be improved.

We were very disappointed that the air-conditioning did not work for each of the three days we were there when the temperature outside when we arrived was 37C. They acknowledged the problem and left us a pre-printed, bilingual apology and the staff kept expressing hope that it would be fixed ‘aujourd’hui’. But it wasn’t. On check-out we asked about partial reimbursement: we would have booked somewhere else if we had known there would no a/c. They waived the price of a few poolside drinks (less than 3% of the overall bill) and said that they could not offer more because we had paid via Booking. com; we would have to seek recompense from them. Booking .com were sympathetic but ultimately told us that the hotel wouldn’t offer any more and, because the hotel was an important partner, they were going to accept that. In the end, B.com did not act as the advocate of the customer, they closed ranks and collaborated with the hotel chain.
