No soap to wash your hands in the en-suite bathroom which is very unusual for a hotel, especially post Covid. Would have been nice to have liquid antibacterial hand wash bottle or even one of the small individually wrapped soap bar.

Lovely grounds with ample car parking, friendly helpful staff.

The room was not up to the same standard as the rest of the hotel. The windows were cracked and dirty. No mechanism for having the window open safely.

Good location. Nice grounds. Good atmosphere in public areas.

Shower temp very changeable!! Menu should mention that bar food has a service charge on top. Only one channel available on TV.

Food was excellent. Replenished water and tea/biscuits in room every day. ( very welcome ) Great parking. Bar prices not exorbitant!!

Too hoț in the room and no way of taking the temperature down, other than opening the window.

The building is characterful and offers a variety of nice comfortable areas to sit and enjoy the company. The walled garden is great. Staff were friendly and accommodating. The room was spacious.

There is, apparently, no lift, so many guests would find it helpful if the hotel specified on which floor the room in question is located. We didn't mind, but some have commented.

This is not one of those 'boutique' hotels where style wins over substance, and where you pay for it. Stratton House is pleasant, spacious, practical and great value for money. This room, on the top floor, was ample, with two easy chairs. Having the square footage of the room on the booking webpage is very useful. (Suggestion to Booking.com: the list of room features ought to include the number of easy chairs. Too often hotel double rooms have only one.) Very quiet night and comfortable bed. Good shower. Pleasant outlook. All staff were absolutely charming and helpful. Restaurant was pleasant, a good practical menu, well presented, unpretentious and wholesome food and wine. Nice atmosphere. Very good breakfast and good strong coffee too. Convenient for Cirencester - we drove into town to visit the extraordinary church and the delightful market outside.

We didn’t actually get any keys for our room and had to get them our self from the back office! There wasn’t ANY STAFF on the night of our stay and when we phoned reception the phone just kept ringing and wasn’t diverted to anyone else so we had no choice but to help our self to a key otherwise we would of been sleeping in the restaurant!! So when we arrived back after a night out and expected a key for our room there just wasn’t anyone who could help. it was very uneasy knowing anyone could just walk into this hotel and get keys for the room?! We don’t even think we had the right room for the price we payed so this was very disappointing for all our friends who stayed. We probably won’t return if this problem doesn’t get compensated for us and our group.

I liked the location and decor of the property, very clean and nice staff at reception when we arrived. Very lovely lady.

We bought a spa package and had massage done. Unfortunately whilst having massage done loud banging and drilling were taking place making the massage very un relaxing unfortunately :( I understand that an old building like Stratton house must need constant maintenance however don’t have massages booked in with clients on the same day in the room next door to the work. When telling the lady on the desk of the spa politely, she said she would tell her manager however was never contacted. An acknowledgement or notice given about said works would have been good.

I liked the decor and the bath in the room , there was a nice big bed and it was a unique older building

It's pleasant, but all a bit turn of the century, in need of a refresh. Prices of things like breakfast (an eye-watering £19 per person at time of writing) reflect the fact that there are few to no other options nearby.

Good service throughout, and spotlessly clean.

The spa needs a pool or another jacuzzi, because it can get a bit crowded in one jacuzzi and you sort of feel you are imposing on the other couples space. A little pool would have been a better option than the back room as it’s just loungers. Relaxing but not needed as there are loungers by the jacuzzi.

Loved the decor! So timeless and the boutique vintage inspired furniture was fabulous! I loved that we had a window view, made all the difference! The food was lovely, reasonably priced aswell. Staff all friendly and helpful!
