Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Having to move rooms for only a two night stay was a bit irritating. The food was very good, but the roast beef on the Sunday evening was a bit overwhelming in quantity and there was too much gravy on the meal.
Very comfortable rooms. The restaurant was very good. The location was just fine for our purposes.

There was nothing not to like!
I fancied a little break away up at the coast, and tried Briarfields for the first time. It definitely won't be the last! This hotel is fabulous - they've thought of everything, and even provided a mini-fridge upon request, which was perfect for the cheese and biscuits I had after a long bath! I slept really well, the room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. I understand it's dog friendly, but there was absolutely no dog smell in my room. The location is stunning - you can walk to Brancaster, or check out the RSPB reserve in Titchwell, plus Hunny and Thornham are close by (and the bus goes through Titchwell if you want to leave your car). I didn't dine here as I was out exploring and ate while I was out, but if the food is anything like the rooms then it will be fantastic. I'm already looking at dates for my next trip! Cannot recommend enough 💜

Dining area cavernous with little character. Breakfasts average

Couldn’t use the shower gel etc properly as locked into a unit. I highly doubt anyone spending this level of money for the night wants to steal some shampoo!

Having to leave!!!
Warm and cosy room with everything we needed. Shower was hot and bed was very comfortable. Dedicated parking directly outside our room is an added bonus as is the generous breakfast at a very reasonable cost. Hotel has a welcoming bar and restaurant attached, which makes for a relaxing and restful stay. Not our first visit and certainly won't be our last!!!

I suspect the road noise might be a slight issue in summer, assuming you had the windows open, however one would have the advantage of the outside patio space, but we have nothing to complain about!
Although we booked a small double it was very adequate for a short stay, and had a small private patio area which would have been great in warmer weather. We enjoyed our dinner and breakfast in a pleasant dining area. There are plenty of cosy lounge spaces to sit if the room was too confining. The staff were friendly and welcoming! We enjoyed walking the beaches and saw the seals at Brancaster.

Yet another brilliant stay at Briarfields hotel. Nothing is too much trouble for the wonderful staff. As a single traveller it is so nice to have friendly, happy people serve me who always make time to have a chat. This hotel is worthy of a 5 star rating.

It is on the expensive side. The one thing that let our stay down was the food! The food was not good

The menu could have been a more interesting. No puddings for examples, the emphasis being on pastries.
Location was perfect for RSPB Titchwell Marsh and the coast generally.
