Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United Kingdomrooms are quite outdated, also our room was full of black bugs in the bathroom and on the carpets which I don’t find acceptable if hotel charges £400 per night.
it’s a lovely hotel, very traditional and cosy atmosphere

United KingdomDinner menu far too fussy, not enough choice and portions were absolutely minute in size. There is fine dining and then there is too much fluff and pretence. We were bombarded with nibbles before , during and after the meal that we did not order, but obviously these would have taken ages to prepare. What`s the point if the diner doesn`t want an unordered artichoke soup, eel filled cone, cheese profiteroll ,venison morsel , pineapple sorbet or does not eat chicken liver pate. Would be better to concentrate on the main element of the meal with bigger portions. On Saturday night we had to wait one and a half hours for our ordered food and there were only 19No. diners in the room all night. We were not the only ones dissatisfied. We spoke to an American couple on the Friday night and they were so disappointed with the menu they ate elsewhere on the Saturday. so that`s at least two dissatisfied couples.
Breakfast was excellent. Staff were superb.

United States of AmericaIt was unseasonably hot when we were there and the old manor is not set up for such hot weather...no a/c, which is fine, but the windows didn't open far and there were no screens so we were visited by bees and it was hot in the room.

United KingdomBreakfast very poor and disappointing. 'Poached eggs with smashed avocado on sourdough' was actually and thin spread of avocado on pre-sliced granary loaf, only resemblance to avocado was the colour, the eggs poorly poached with white under-cooked and sloopy. The level of roudy boisterous noise coming from the kitchen would, I'm sure, be more reminiscent of a transport cafe! Such an extreme contrast and great disappointment to our experience the night before.
Beautiful Manor in an idyllic location. The evening meal was divine and the service excellent.

United KingdomBeing a keen gardener the trailing electrical cables should be out of sight, oh and there is always weeding.
The location is off the beaten track, it;s small size when compared to many other hotels. I quite liked the sense of the 1950' i.e. not much has changed since then - relaxing

United States of AmericaThe room was sub standard and worn. It needed freshening up and new wall paper and felt a bit dusty and worn.
The staff was amazing and super helpful on where to go, what to do, making suggestions. The food was excellent. The location was great to be able to visit many villages near by and access to the Cotswold Way for hiking. The room we were in needed upgrading and was looking worn, for how much we were paying, I was hoping the rooms would be in better shape, but the country feel of the living spaces were actually charming, the grounds were spectacular and the staff very friendly.

United KingdomFire places were not lit throughout / in the morning etc - not giving the warmth of a live place. One fire place in main room was out of order. Perhaps would be a great addition to have a small spa /minimalistic swimming pool
Excellent location, quiet, very good food and service. Small boutique hotel gives the great feeling of a private country house. Dinner was impecable and house offerings in between courses appreciated. Friendly service was a plus.
