Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Second year for Cheltenham festival couldn't be more welcome Sharon is great host we brought family with us couldn't be more welcome sorted our parking out breakfast superb we will be bad for many years to come

Nothing to dislike!
Nothing to dislike, great hosts, well thought out comfortable room which had a homely feel, everything was spotlessly clean, fantastic breakfast all based in a very good location. Short walk into the top of town, short walk the other way to the river & Trinity Church. More or less outside bus stops into town or the other way passing Stratford Racecourse which itself is within walking distance. 10 minute walk to the rail station. Couldn't be in a better place, quality guest house which I can't fault. We will definitely be returning

Nothing, but quite hard to park on side roads for initial checking in. We squeezed into a spot, checked in (early) and were then shown where to park for our stay.
Very friendly host, great location, lovely breakfast cooked to order.

the shower and toilet room could do with a update, the house is on a main road so can get a bit noisy.
breakfast was excellent kept us going through to the afternoon. the room was large and comfy. the location is great, just a few minutes walk from the centre and river.

The accomodation was excellent - it was close to the RSC which we like to visit and the breakfast was great. Sharon was very friendly and accomodating. It was great value for money and there was a dedicated parking space across the road in a private car parking area.

It wasn't a problem for us, but the guesthouse is on a main road so there is some traffic noise. If you like sleeping with windows open and don't like noise, earplugs may be warranted. On a personal note there was a highly scented oil wick in the room which I don't like, but I moved it to the bathroom for the duration of our stay so no issue really.
Sharon was a lovely host who makes a very good breakfast. She was very friendly and helpful with any questions we had. It is warm and inviting from the moment you step inside. The room was huge and well appointed with a big comfy bed, chairs and side tables along with a wardrobe and dressing table. The bathroom was modern and clean. There were soaps and shampoo available as well as a hairdryer. I needed to iron some clothes and was able to use Sharons. The guesthouse is only a 5 minute walk from the town centre and less than 10 from the RSC Theatre. There are a few free parking spaces on a first come basis. They are well hidden so I'd suggest contacting them for directions prior to setting off. We would absolutely stay here again.

Sharon is a lovely welcoming host. The location was perfect for our stay; a 5 minute walk from the town centre and theatre. Breakfast was plentiful and fabulously tasty. We were even able to book in a couple of hours earlier than stated without any fuss. Free parking is also available which is a bonus in somewhere like Stratford upon Avon.

Would have been nice to have had a lounge.
Lovely owner who was very welcoming. Very comfortable room. Breakfast was nice. Selected from a menu the day before. So close to the city centre. Parking available but across the road so be prepared to wheel you luggage across the road.

Beautiful room. Delicious breakfast made to order - I was able to choose vegetarian options. Friendly and welcoming owner. Convenient location - a short walk from the railway station, the town centre and the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. Highly recommended.

Couldn't fault our stay at carlton Guest House, lovely big clean room, breakfast was delicious. Free Parking across the road, perfectly situated...could walk to where we wanted to be. It was a lovely stay and the hosts made you feel very welcome. Would definitely return as I didn't get to do everything I wanted to.

Very friendly and helpful hosts. The location is about a 5 minute walk to town centre. Breakfast was lovely. There is parking available but it is across the road and you need to get directions as it is well hidden.
