There were issues with the lights (which were fixed after reported) and the water pressure wasn't very good. The rooms look a little bit dated and require some maintenance, especially the painting.

The bed was very comfortable and the staff was nice.

No heating in the room just a plug in electric heater that smelt of burning. The room itself smelt of fish. The curtain next to the bathroom barely kept the light from the yard outside from coming in. The door to the ensuite did not shut without a huge shove, as the door is not cut the right size for the frame. The ensuite was freezing cold. Could feel the floorboards through the carpet.

The gentlemen when booking in was helpful. The bedding and towels were clean.

Hotel fabric is worn and tired with wallpaper starting to peel. Could not access WiFi though for one night not a problem. Tv bracket could not be set to more comfortable view, again for one night bearable

No staff in attendance at any time - all dealt with through phone or text . Decorative order of hotel was poor with wall paper peeling off wall and unpainted plaster work / woodwork in room which was supposed to be superior . Security was poor on front door a good push would have opened it I am sure . Quite noisy music from pub opposite until 11.00 pm . WIFI code did not work . Expensive for quality . Absolutly no details regarding safety aspects or local places to eat or visit .

Having private parking space in the middle of town is great . The room was well equipped with nice chuncky towels and coffee / tea arrangements . Heating kept the room warm . It was reasonably clean throughout .

Heating was off for the first full night but this problem was resolved very quickly. Secondly the hotel is advertised as having a bar and restaurant, which there clearly was not. This was in my opinion, false advertising..

The hotel is in need of a lick of paint and is more of a bed and breakfast (without the breakfast) than a hotel. On the top floor I couldn't connect to the WiFi which was tricky as I was staying for work purposes. The shower was also blocked and quickly had standing water.

The staff were really lovely and accommodating. The room was clean and well equipped. The hotel is in a good location for access to the station. It's a good choice for a one night short stay.

Bedclothes were cool and clean, bathroom was very clean. The room had tea and coffee. I needed a bed for 1 night and the room was perfect for my requirements thank you.

I can’t remember if we were told about steep stairs. Windows dirty and would not open. External painting would be beneficial and a container for cigarette butts would help . First impressions are important . Expensive

Staff were terrific , very helpful. Rooms clean and excellent towels . Curry Club, Indian restaurant a good recommendation.

Everything . No staff about . Was sent a message with code and where the keys were. None of the pictures were true to what they actually were . Restaurant has been closed for ages so no means of getting food eg . Breakfast . Visited this place over the years and it’s so sad to see it in this pitiful state! The Bars gone as well . Outside needs painting also rooms need updating . Needs a lot of money throwing at it . Didn’t see a sole whilst staying (1 night). Health and safety needs to be addressed as I don’t think there are staff staying overnight in the place . More like a Hostel than a Hotel!

The shower was in bad repair, with the water not draining away quickly, which did result in some leakage into the bathroom, plus the shower riser that has the shower head attached to it was broken, meaning it could only remain in one place as we had to wedge it into a position where it wouldn't fall off. Disappointed that the hotel description describes having breakfast and a restaurant, neither of which are available. Guest information pack in the room described the fire evacuation, but gave no information on the surrounding area, or a phone number to call incase of any issues (reception not manned)

We were welcomed on arrival and advised which room we would be in. The room was clean and presentable, complete with tea and coffee making facilities, a fan, a heater, one extra pillow and an ironing board and iron. As we headed out in the afternoon we were advised that the fire alarms had been triggered that morning due to the extreme heat (early September heatwave) and were asked to make sure the room was getting plenty of air to avoid it happening again.

Seriously needs decorating, need permanent staff there too, no breakfast facilities and bar not open either

Room was clean but seriously needs decorating, nothing that made you go wow it was quiet as we were at back of hotel didn’t see any other guests, no reception staff etc there at all, the restaurant & bar needs reopening too, we stayed there many years ago when it was 5 star hotel it was amazing sadly not now, it is in a good location but as previously stated needs a lot of work

Nothing stands out. I had no contact face to face with staff, but I arrive and leave at awkward times. I had a phone call enroute which confirmed all the information I needed.

Stayed here before, and no drop in standards. There are no frills, nothing to make you go wow, but you get a clean and tidy room with the facilities you need.
