The breakfast was okay; there was lots of choice but the hot option was let down by the scrambled being runny & the fried eggs were hard. I asked for a twin room with a view but was told the twin rooms don’t have a view, which was slightly disappointing.

Lovely, welcoming staff and beautiful building & grounds. Alexander’s pub is a great addition on site. A very nice touch was a later checkout, which I didn’t know until we arrived.

We booked it as it had a pool, however, there was maintenance being done and it wasn't relaxing at all! Rooms are a bit tired x

A breakfast buffet is always a bit disappointing as some bits become overcooked (black pudding, fried eggs) and some are undercooked and insipid. (bacon)

The staff were uniformly friendly and helpful and our room was comfortable. The hotel has excellent views and is a good location for visiting Kendal and the local area.

The swimming pool is small and availability is limited. Several daily lane sessions that have to be booked in advance meant that we could not enjoy it as we would have liked.

The room was very clean, although the bathroom was a little dated.

- Restaurant options are a little limited and pricey. - Limited parking outside the reception area, but there is plenty of space in the overflow car park (note, this is a little walk downhill, so definitely drive up to the reception to drop off your bags otherwise you'll be walking uphill with them!)

- Great breakfast, with lots of options (hot breakfast, pastries, fruits, yoghurts, breads and spreads, additional items made to order at an extra cost). - Spacious bedrooms, very clean. - Lovely staff, very welcoming. - Close to the town centre, only a short drive away.

The food in the onsite 'pub' had a lot to be desired; the roast dinner was 'okay' at best. Sandwich delivered to the room as part of room service, was dreadful and over priced!

Hotel was incredibly clean and staff were all friendly and helpful. Use of the onsite leisure facilities was a bonus.

The bed seemed to be caved in on one side. The staff did send maintenance when we notified them but it seemed the bed was only temporarily fixed as it was back the same during the night.

Staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel was very clean and well looked after. My side of the bed was comfortable.
