Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomAbsolutely amazing place to stay. The building and furnishings were beautiful, really cool to have so much historic and vintage items. Bedroom was extremely clean and the beds were super comfortable. Loads of space in the rooms we booked. Great location, right in the middle of the town so it was easy for us to get the gig we were attending (about a minute walk). Breakfast was fantastic, very tasty and generous portions. Staff were really friendly and easygoing.

United KingdomLocation is perfect for exploring the village. This house gives you a Downton Abbey experience! Everything is exquisitely decorated in keeping with the age and history of the house. The bedroom was huge and beautifully refurbished. The breakfast was amazing and we were personally served by the owner. We will definitely be back 😁

United KingdomThe allocated room smelt strongly of smoke but this was resolved over the phone with a change to a much better room. No-one was around on arrival and there didn't seem to be any other guests but I had no problem getting access.
Loved the period character and features. Very quiet and lots of space. Good breakfast with plenty of choice.

United KingdomJudging by previous reviews, we expected a warm welcome. Sadly this was not the case at all as we did not see our host during the entire stay. Just before arrival, we received a text to ask to pick up keys in a neighbouring shop. No explanation or apology. Well maybe an emergency arose we thought so no problem. The lady who gave us the keys was lovely. However our host was not there at breakfast either. We had no idea how to access the lovely garden shown in the pictures on the website, and no one to ask. Our room whilst comfortable enough, has obviously had no one stay in it for a while. There was a layer of dust on every surface. At first we couldn't get the kettle or TV to work until we worked out ourselves that there was a master switch, barely seen, by the door. We should have been able to ask someone much sooner. It was lovely that there was tea making facilities but sadly unable to use them on arrival. One window blind is missing. The bathroom doors didn't fully close. Overall a bit more attention to houskeeping would improve things a lot in the room we had. It did not reflect the pictures at all, which make it look much more homely. Sadly for us overall the experience was souless.
The house has interesting features, a lovely step back in time. Breakfast was good. The bed was clean and comfortable.

Quirky property and lovely clean spacious room. Very antique and charming. Bed comfortable and room was quiet even on a Friday/Saturday night. The housekeeper lady was very attentive and provided a lovely cooked breakfast. A great place to base for the north coast and it's in village location. Tomneys bar is a must for any visitor and is owned by the same guys. Will return

United States of AmericaThere is nothing I didn’t like. Even though our room faced the street, I did not hear anything to disturb my sleep.
Breakfast was amazing! Location is central to shopping, dining and evening entertainment. (Walking distance) Quiet little village with lots of charm. Property had a beautiful “hidden” garden that simply feeds your soul! Lovely place. I won’t stay anywhere else when I am in the area.

IrelandGiven the style of the accomodation nothing much could be changed. Perhaps someone expecting a modern facility would be disappointed but then they wouldn't appreciate the decore.
The house was beautifully filled with antique furniture and paitings. Very clean and quaint. A pleasant atmosphere. Bed very comfortable (not antique). Easy to get to. In a very nice village. Parking immediately outside. We arrived at an odd hour and we were able to get keys very readily.
