Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomA cosy but surprisingly spacious cottage with everything that you need for a little break away. Especially loved the warm welcome from host Tina, the beautifully scented toiletries and fresh flowers as well as the fresh eggs, milk and treats on arrival. Was very generous and made the stay really special. Thanks so much!

United KingdomThere's nothing we did not like.
We visited Tina's Garden Hideaway House for 2 days and immediately fell in love with it. The house has everything a single visitor or a couple need for a relaxed holiday, it is very cosy and very nicely decorated and has its own patio and garden. Its location is very convenient to visit the eastern part of the Highlands. And Tina was just great (thank you!!), very accomodating of our late check-in and so thoughtful and responsive to the few requests we had. We wish we had stayed longer and hopefully will come back another time!!!

United KingdomThe lights would turn off when we used the tap but we just thought it was funny.
The place was very clean. They had left us eggs, different cooking supplies, milk and coffee which was nice. We got to see chickens when we were leaving as they were wandering around in the garden. The kitchen area was petite, as was expected and we managed to whip up some pasta for dinner. The extra heater they had supplied was amazing at keeping us nice and warm as it was cold outside. All round we had a lovely stay :)

Very clean and lots of special touches including electric blanket, slippers, extra heater if we needed it. Coffee machine with pods, milk and water in the fridge and free range eggs. United KingdomNothing we disliked, couldn’t get to heater to stay warm for long but thankfully there were plenty of lovely cosy blankets and an extra little fan heater so wasn’t a problem really!
It was all decorated for Christmas which made it feel homely and festive. Complimentary fresh eggs which were fab and a few wee extra touches and just an all round cute little place to stay. Tina was great, as she was out for the day had messaged me and left a note with everything we needed to know. Great that dogs can be there too, my dog had a great time. As did we.

United KingdomQuiet, rural location which was great to commute to Inverurie and Aberdeen during our stay. The property itself was very clean with a very nice decor. The bed was comfortable and provided a good night sleep. We also received some fresh eggs, provided from the on-site chickens which Tina has, to have for our breakfast, which was great.

NorwayThis was our second stay at the Hideaway and it was just as lovely as the first time. We were welcomed to a warm home, which was lovely on a cold December day. The house had Christmas decorations which we thought was a very nice touch. Everything was just as great as last time - well equipped kitchen, very good shower, comfy bed and seating, fast WiFi. Our dog was very comfortable here too and we appreciate the dog bowls and dog mat. No complaints its a clear 10/10 for us. Thank you for another wonderful stay x
