Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomLooking out of the window was a ledge that was covered in rubbish, old wooden crates & plastic that looked like it had been there a long time. This should be removed & some plants in pots out there instead to replace the eyesore that is there now. There was no one at reception at approx 17.30 last Fri. There was a small note to say to press a button but nothing obvious anywhere near the note I was later told the button was on what looked like a phone charger on the desk, however the button was not marked. I was told not to press it as it made a loud noise. What kind of reception is this? It should be manned continuously. Dinner menu was not very appealing & the bistro had no atmosphere, so 5 of us who were guests at the hotel ate elsewhere
My room was large & bright

United Kingdomthere is not much choice for an evening meal. when ordering, the waiter guessed at the soup of the day and said it was tomato soup, but instead turned up with a green soup of some king. his reply was... ho, looking at the green instead of red, so its not tomato soup and walked off. when the main meal arrived, the spicy chicken was overcooked and really dry
the breakfast was a full english buffet option with alternative choices

United KingdomThe service was limited, often there wasn’t anyone around to help. There was no where to sit in the bar in the evening as there was a coach party staying at the hotel so we had to sit in our room all evening
The room was a good size and the bathroom was clearly recently renovated

United KingdomBreakfast poor tables not cleared and no glasses or cups out had to ask for both. Breakfast some items empty dishes. Rooms were dated and the when the people in the room above ours walked if sounded like they were about to fall thro the ceiling. Insufficient staff for numbers of guests that weekend. An alarm went off each morning like a fire alarm. The noise on the night from an event below our room.

United KingdomFood was abominable. Tasteless soup (from a pre bought bag?) and the pasta with chicken and tomato was swimming in oil. Poor value for £25. As a result I didn't pay for breakfast.
Room was clean, as was the bathroom and a good size.

United KingdomChoice, made tea rather than a machine. Not much choice of cereal or bread.
Cooked breakfast was rather poor. Not enough choice, no tomatoes which was disappointing. No freshly made tea in pots. Not good choice of bread ( for toasting or otherwise ) Lack of imagination.

United KingdomDon’t believe the website! The Brasserie1 restaurant is not open and therefore does not serve “a modern take on traditional dishes”. In the Antler Bar it states “delightful dishes using locally sourced ingredients ensuring a diverse selection of seasonal homemade options to tantalise your tastebuds”. Hardly unless the pub food menu is what you want. Amongst the menu items is a starter of a pork pie and home made brown sauce is followed by a burger served on a toasted bun complete with a limp lettuce leaf and a few slices of tomato. You could have a tastier burger in Burg.. K..g! However the server did her best and was very helpful. The Antler bar is advertised as being open until 11:00, but actually shuts at 20:00. Better get there quick or you won’t be served! None of the information is current; in the room it stated that breakfast Monday to Friday is until 09:30 but actually stopped at 09:00. At the week end it is supposed to finish at 11:00 but get there earlier as it stops at 10:00 and everything is cleared way! I was asked to pay for three breakfasts on arrival, but on two days only half the hot food was available as they had “ run out” of bacon and sausages. Surely the Chef must have a good idea of how many people are going to have breakfast and can prepare enough food accordingly? Summarising, It is all rather dis- functional and living on its past reputation.

United KingdomVery small room, only one bedside table Very noisy on Sat night due to tribute event. It was like the show was in our room. We came for a rest and had we known would not have booked Grumpy breakfast staff made us feel unwelcome and snapped at us that we had room only when we had booked breakfast included Then proceeded to fawn over everyone else ‘Good morning Sir, how can I help? Then clattered around noisily clearing tables whilst we were trying to have a nice quiet breakfast Then on the noisy night I was in the bath trying to relax when the fire alarm went off then stopped. 10 mins later a bang on the door asking in an accusatory tone if we had set the alarm off! Noone spike to us or enquired if everything was ok once Annabelle went off duty. Stark contrast to Friday evening when she was on duty. Then on leaving again noone asked if everything was ok. No details available regarding spa treatments. It looked closed. Annabelle was clearly your most professional, friendly member if staff. Maybe she should be training the others? Sorry to complain but it was a disappointment after Fri night
