We had an issue with ordering our evening meal and the length of time we waited for food. But once you’re fully staffed it would be fine, I think you were in the process of interviewing at the time of our visit.

Very windy , wind was howling a lot during the day and night, bit difficult to sleep.. but not really to big a issue. Could really do with a window in the room that opens.. fresh air would be nice.

Was very happy with our stay, lovely hotel. Staff very good. Room was very nice, beds very comfortable, plenty of room to stretch out.. everything provided, tea coffee, iron etc. Nicely decorated.. shower was very powerful.

The price of the drinks, both soft drinks and alcoholic drinks were high. I think that nearly £4 for a small Fever Tree tonic (no alcohol) with ice is extortionate. I appreciate most places have a huge mark-up on drinks, and here was no different. Our room was supposed to have been made up as a twin room, but it was a double however, the person who showed us to our room was so apologetic and immediately remedied it. We didn't see that as a problem, to be honest. There were no gluten-free sausages for breakfast, which can be easily sourced and I hope they consider sourcing some in the future.

Lovely location with beautiful views from our room. We were in a room that opened out onto a veranda where there's a table and chairs to sit outside the room in the sun - yes, it was sunny! The staff were all really helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. My son needs to eat gluten-free food, and there are decent options to choose from. They provided gluten-free bread for breakfast. The only thing they couldn't provide was a gluten-free option of a burger bun, but he was happy to have it without, and the burger was excellent, I'm told. The food was lovely with a particular note of the chips that we had on our second night due to hearing another customer complimenting them. The poached eggs were done to perfection, too. The room was clean, and the shower was easy to control temperature with good water pressure. I've stayed in other places with dreadful showers, so I am always appreciative of a good shower. Well soundproofed rooms, and we didn't hear our neighbours at all. The hairdryer provided was decent and much better than the ones I've used in other places. More than sufficient parking during our off-peak Thursday - Saturday morning stay.

Only one minor observation, in room 108 where we stayed for the night, it is next to to the main road and was quite noisy with road traffic, the room would benefit from additional insulation within the ceiling void and external cladding.

We were originally given room 15 in the new extension which had an end gable wall bordering the main road outside. The traffic noise was horrendous ! We complained and the next day we were relocated to another room which was excellent. This new room had only been completed 4 weeks earlier so I think the problems were only just emerging. I would say this would be better as a store room.

The rooms and general areas were all recently refurbished and the whole place was decorated in a very attractive style. With lovely garden and views beyond to the rear .
