The food was average at best, could definitely do much better.

The room was better than expected, very comfortable. The bed was huge, and the sofa bed was also a good size and comfortable. We all slept very well. The bathroom was a good size and well equipped. Wifi worked well, and the staff were very attentive. Large car park is very convenient.

Not the property’s fault but had a very noisy family gathering in and kids were running back and forwards through restaurant several times during our meal and lots of running around above our room late on same family hogged the continental breakfast table

Went to breakfast 30mins before closing and were the only people there. Staff were busy with other duties so not as attentive as they could have been..Ordered the full breakfast, wasn't asked how we wanted our eggs and we obviously got whatever was left as the fried egg I was served had no yolk (but did have a hair on it). The single slice of bacon was dry and quite fatty but the sausages made up for it. Last serving for breakfast should be the same standard as the first for £11 a plate but that was the only negative for the whole stay.

Room and building was lovely with it's own unique character and staff were very welcoming. Residents have own access after hours so great place to use as a base to explore the area without worrying about being back for a certain time.

Instant coffee for breakfast was disappointing - apparently thermos flask was broken so had to use tepid water being offered for tea. Apparently it takes too long to heat up the big machine behind the bar - really?

Check in show me all the way to my room which is nice, but it is a warren of an old hotel so they may have lost a few people before. :) I had a simple bar supper with great beer. Good breakfast included in my rate.

The hotel building is gorgeous with beautiful beams. Historic area good for walks. Great breakfast.

Black grout in shower didn't look good. Stayed in the top bedroom which was a climb I wasn't expecting but I probably didint read the description. I found the wi-fi difficult to get onto.

The food was excellent and the staff were super friendly. Great atmosphere in the property.

The man running it isn't the friendliest.. We were going to eat there but he put us off staying in there so we went out elsewhere for food and drinks.

Floor in bathroom is lifting in places could become a trip hazard. Carpet on stairs is threadbare and needs urgent replacement.

The price of hotels for a stay over has risen out of proportion. Although this hotel was cheaper than most the two nights here will be the only ones this year in UK hotels. Prior to the big price rises I used to spend 42 nights a year.
