To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United KingdomThe bed in our room (which is not featured on the website) was comfortable but more than a little creaky. The shelves above the bed were very dusty but would have taken only seconds to wipe over when the room was prepared.
Breakfast was good and great views across the bay. Margaret was friendly and chatty and a mine of local information.

United KingdomGood view of Douglas Bay and very convenient for getting on the Electric train for Laxey and Ramsey. The breakfast choices are really good and the dining room is bright and airy. There is ample parking either on the drive or on the quiet street. Access to the house is up a series of steps which some may find difficult, especially if carrying luggage although the host offered to help with bags. It’s a little way out of town and a good 15 minute walk to Douglas Promenade but the quiet location suited us perfectly.
