Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomA bit of a treck to our room with bags up several flights of stairs, no lift but thats to be expected in a hotel with this history.
What a great location and really nice hotel in what is an old coaching house. Staff were friendly and the food was good especially the breakfast where the quality and staff were great.

United KingdomCarparking was very tight. The bedroom was very hot / not aired. Rather tired decoration in common parts and bar. Didn't discover comfortable lounge until just leaving.
Location was excellent. Evening meal was excellent - far better standard/ menu/ service than your 'average' country hotel. Friendly staff. Lots of hot water. Comfortable bed (if small)

United KingdomNothing really to complain about. The wi-fi's quite slow and phone signal is limited, but this does help with unplugging for the world - not a bad thing really!
Staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. Room was very clean and well maintained. Food was good quality and came out fast. Lovely breakfast. Excellent choice of whiskies and staff were able to suggest good ones to try. Location is great, just off the moor, close to Dunkery Beacon and not too far from Minehead. Some lovely walks from the hotel itself.

United KingdomThe rib eye steak was pathetic but since I wasn’t hungry and everything else was so good I didn’t return it. The decor in the main bar is awful when you look at the rest of the property.it would be simple and cheap to make it more appealing. However these are minor things since the stay was exactly what we wanted
Everything we expected

United KingdomOur room was very hot as it was south facing and had little air. Charged my EV there and I didn't get many miles for my money. Thought it was a bit pricey overall for what it was.
Food was good. Staff were pleasant. Decent bar and a pleasant setting.

CanadaStaff were less than welcoming at reception and in the "pub". The "pub" is a very strange seating set-up and the food served there was POOR! When we commented to the wait staff (my wife's dinner was inedible.... a plate of lamb breast fat and gristle)......we were told the chef would be advised!!!! No apology or offer of another dish!
Breakfast was fine and the location was lovely!

United KingdomDespite the Hotel being very quiet we were on the top floor next door to another couple and there was noise from their bathroom (shower?) The room was hot so we opened the window which meant there was some road noise too first thing. Bar Meal in the Evening was very poor quality.
Bathroom had bath and shower as requested and was a good size, warm and plenty of hot water. For the price the room was a little small and the bed seemed very small for a double (maybe our fault as we are used to Kingsize at home!) Breakfast was good, excellent choice and lovely fruit salad.

United KingdomFor a place situated near green spaces, it was interesting that the HUGE yard behind the hotel had a sign that dogs were not allowed? It would have been nice to be given directions for good places to walk a dog, since this was the case. A staff member, a female, was quite rude and impolite, as she shouted at me for throwing rubbish in the bins which were located in the car park? The decor in the bedroom was dated, and our room was facing the front entrance so we did hear chatter.
Breakfast was decent, could have been of higher quality. The male at the front desk was very welcoming, and helpful. I had a tooth ache on my trip, and needed salt.. It was lovely to watch the horses pass by in the mornings.
