We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Very cosy and clean bed and breakfast. Excellent breakfast with abundant choices and everything freshly prepared. The hosts were very welcoming and friendly and did everything to make our stay as comfortable as possible. There is also a nice garden outside where you sit (if weather allows).

The owners were warm and friendly, and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel was very clean and a short walking distance to Shanklin centre, but there are bus stops right by the hotel if walking isn’t your thing. Excellent breakfast with lots of choices. Beautiful garden to sit in.

Our party of four arrived at this lovely hotel mid afternoon with the offer of a refreshing cuppa in the lounge while our bags were taken to our room, this was nice as we are all in our autumn years. Our first impressions were that the place was immaculately clean and tastefully decorated and our opinions didn’t change. The breakfast menu is huge, from fruit and cereals to full English and beyond. All of it served at our table and delicious. Our hosts could not do enough for us and we can’t recommend Foxhills of Shanklin highly enough

We were most impressed with the friendliness of the 4 who run the hotel who went out of the way to make us feel welcome. The location was ideal for us to drive to all parts of the Island. Breakfast was of high quality and variety and excellently organised.

Wonderful hospitality and fantastic 'homemade' choices for breakfast. Really appreciated the special efforts made for one of our parties birthday breakfast - music and bucks fizz and decorated table. Fabulous outdoors with ample garden furniture for relaxing and a drink. A very short walk into the heartland of Shanklin.

United KingdomAlthough we had a dressing room separate from the bedroom, the bathroom facilities attached to it would benefit from modernisation. But that said, everything was functional, clean and perhaps arguably in keeping with the style of this lovely large Victorian house.
The family team were so welcoming and accommodating to our needs and very much lived up to their motto ‘this is our home, treat it like your own’. The garden is a real asset and being able to park off street was a bonus. Absolutely wonderful breakfasts and service. Highly rated and recommended.
