There was a mix up with my room upon arrival which was quickly rectified and i was upgraded which was great, however my upgraded room had a considerable leak and it appeared it had not been in use for some time as the room was very cold and struggled to get any heat in to it in my short stay.

Interesting location, Nice atmosphere, Pretty grounds, food was tasty, The spa is well equipped.

Ongoing roadworks were a nuisance - but not the fault of the property.

Amazing old building. Very convenient for Stratford town centre.

We had a family room with two TVs but neither of them worked correctly. The room was a little dusty. Booked in for 50 minute massage which wasn’t 50 minutes and not the best massage.

Absolutely beautiful grounds. Gorgeous old hotel. Food was very good. Lovely room.

The receptionist at the Spa not very friendly, almost with the attitude, when asked for towels by a hotel guest (us) vs a member. Also, misguided on the opening hours, it closes at 9, not at 8...wanted to go home early? ;)

Fantastic location, beautiful grounds, good size rooms.

Wasn’t expecting the world initially with this being a BW hotel but needed somewhere to stay the night and this was dog friendly and had a pool. The building and gardens look spectacular from the outside. Check in took too long, very slow for what should be a quick and simple process. We had some initial issues in the room, substantial cobwebs in all windows and dead spiders on the windowsills etc. but upon going back down to reception to ask to change rooms the manager was there and was absolutely fantastic at sorting everything out. I do believe if he hadn’t been there it may have been a more difficult ask but he couldn’t have done enough for us and really saved the trip. The food was really good on the night and nice atmosphere sitting out on the patio. Pool area was also quiet and decent for a swim. Fantastic management!

Juice dispenser ! Not ideal to have juice that cant be dispensed

When we arrived the hotel had been overbooked. The reception staff offered us use of the soa facilities to freshen up as we had a theatre booking to get back in to town fir. When I asked if alternative accommodation would be nearby and a twin room as requested we were assured it would be so we agreed to move to Alveston Manor, which was actually very close to the river in the town. It was an advantageous move for us and the staff at Alveston were equally helpful and the room was great. The breakfast selection was exceptional apart from the juice dispenser which meant the orange juice stayed suitably cold in the dispenser for us all to look at longingly😀

Unfortunately, there were road works outside the hotel which meant a huge detour coming back from town - not the hotels fault.

The room was very spacious and clean. Although a little tired in places, this did not affect our stay and added a little charm!

The communal areas need some TLC but for the price we paid excellent value for money and appreciate to make those changes cost would be huge.

4pm check in was too late. We arrived at 12pm and told the property this beforehand and to not even be able to get the room ready by 2 30pm - 3pm was disappointing. Also no food available in afternoon as was told the chef walked out!

The hotel was beautiful, set in stunning surroundings overlooking the golf course. The spa facilities were a welcomes treat and we made full use of these. Breakfast was a self service buffet which worked really well and plenty of variety and choice on offer. The bedrooms were very spacious with a very comfortable bed. Would definitely recommend and stay here again.
