Shower had not been cleaned and toilets and sink not cleaned either. I had the "superior private bedroom" with shower and toilets included. TV was not working, whats the point of leaving it the room..? Very bad insolation (as everywhere in the UK) and noisy people so not a very good sleep. Smells of kitchen or something burnt went through the room with all doors and windows closed.. Quite expensive given the altogether middle quality of hygiene etc.

Comfortable bed and very good heating system, floor and furniture clean. Friendly landlord who sent me info via WhatsApp as emails via booking did not come through. Very good location, 20min by foot to get to the centre and 6 min by bus, bus stop is 3min by foot from the hotel. Good WiFi connection

The whole property smelled really bad. The kitchen facilities were useful but not particularly clean. The sponges were so old that they were mouldy.

Bedbugs left bites all over our hands and feet, only noticed on the second night. Seemed clean at first but in hindsight questionable cleanliness if theres so many bugs (too many cluster bites everywhere)

The bathroom has seen better days and could do with a splash of paint.

I needed a no-frill accommodation for a reasonable price and that is what the Lantern House has provided. The car park is conveniently located right in front of the hotel. The check-in instructions sent via email were clear and correct. Entering the building and the room was easy and convenient. All descriptions on the booking.com website were correct. I stayed over a weekend and to no surprise some other guests came back early in the morning noisy and without any care for other guests, but that is not the hotel's responsibility. I appreciate the service provided. Thank you.

Just a little more crockery/utensils would have been great. No forks, so I ended up eating a bought salad with a teaspoon. I never did work out whether the chap who let the couple who arrived shortly before me into the proprty was staff or a resident.

Was their breakfast? If so, I missed that. Location good (walking distance from centre of Cambridge)

The shower was grimy, and the toilet wasn't very clean. The kitchen had a weird smell and dirty sponges for washing up. There was a lot of banging and door slamming throughout the night which woke me up a lot. The residents could have been more considerate of sharing their space with others who may have been sleeping.

The location was perfect for our needs, very close to town, the lido, the university, points of interest. It was only a 15 minute walk into town. The beds were comfy, rooms clean, and it was very easy to access and enter.

On Sunday morning around 8am we were woken up by loud voices and noise. The loud communication and laughter went on until we checked out around 10am or so. At first I thought it was a couple next door but then I believed they were staff/owner. I am not sure. It would have been nice to sleep longer on a weekend away. If this young man and the young woman are actually staff, then it would be really nice if they could have more regard to the guests in the mornings, especially on a Sunday.

It was easy to check-in and out, clean and in a very nice location.

Good if you just need a simple place to sleep & shower, don't expect anything fancy. Mattrasses can be slightly uncomfortable.

Very basic accomodation, but clean and tidy, works with self check-in/out (i.e. flexible arrival times, not dependant on reception hours). Location is a short walk from centre.

I had a issue with someone having a party on the first night. It turned out being a next door. The owner/manager messaged and called me and I'm guessing sorted the issue out as I never herd them for the remaining time of my stay. It was only 10 minutes away from my job I was doing. Thanks

The duvet was extremely thin, almost just a cover! Although the room was nice and warm, I still had to sleep in a jumper and was a little cold getting to sleep. And no staff around to ask for a blanket

I think the owner, with whom l had an unhappy encounter shortly before l left was possibly unwell &/or severely stressed that day. Previously the quality of Customer Care from the cheerful helpful Polish manager was really good, but the unlappy encounter with his employer left a bad taste in my mouth. Perhaps l came across as a bad listener and was myself tired that day but it felt that it was he that could not listen to my case for having some flexibility with an particular client deserving a hearing
