Cleanliness of the hotel and the facilities didn’t match the pictures on booking.com. Especially the pool area. The restaurant was the biggest disappointment the tables were sticky and not clean and the restaurant had a very strong smell of fish on entering. Breakfast the mugs were cheeped and discolored inside and just not what you want when you are away on a break. At the pool on signing in to use the pool area the lady on the pool area was very rude. Had coffee and wanted to sit on the corner but was disturbed with the amount of dead flies on the window sill.

I had requested a walk in shower as accessing a bath is not easy for us. This request had been confirmed but on arrival we had been allocated a room with the shower over a bath. The reception staff said they didnt have an alternative and had absolutely no empathy with our situation . No apology was offered or any compensation either - not impressed

We have been staying at this property for decades en route to Holyhead .Its location is perfect for our needs .Its rural location and views over the canal are beautiful . Staff are generally helpful

The spa had so many broke items, the water stand was broken, sauna was broken, shower was broken and in the pool has a couple of float bits

Warm food and attention to detail. Evening/lunch was great breakfast buffet I'd self service. Therefore with at least 4 staff members on, I would expect, one as a host (that also checks the food), two cleaning/clearing tables and serving the bar and a spare for help. There were 4 staff on that day and whilst it was quiet it was shambles for food.

Breakfast is 9-10. This means all food should be replenished till 10am depending on how many people are dining. The cast iron holders do not keep the food warm. Black pudding was stone cold. Its clear that no one is temperature checking to fill in your kitchen book of how hot the food was as by official standards it would of had to be binned and re cooked ehats more concerning is your probably filling it out and lying about it ( I work with food myself). No eggs (had to ask for them) no bread, no milk. I asked the staff to warm the breakfast up in the microwave. Partnering table in the restaurant also made comments on how cold the food was.

Place has gone shabby since we last came. Outdoor soft furnishings tatty. Light bulbs missing in stairwell. Lots of weeds in garden borders. If it was a wedding we were attending I would think again.

Very expensive food and wine and to smack you in the face a 10 % charge on top. Breakfast were cold the only warm thing was the sausages very disappointed.

Bathroom very small and tiled shower floor, bad idea as always going to look dirty. Tables in dining room although wiped, still sticky. Dining chairs too low for tables. Buffet breakfast could be better.

Location was ideal for the Orthapaedic hospital. Spacious room with beautiful view over canal and countryside. Sleeping accommodation away from event rooms.

The tv was on and it looked like the bed had been laid on before I entered. It was clean but seemed obvious someone had been in. The walls are very thin, so rooms are very noisy.

It was an ok stay. The rooms are very noisy, thin walls, you can hear a conversation next door all the time. It was pleasant enough, but would not choose to stay again for the money paid.

There was nothing we didn’t like but there are areas for improvement. Reception area could be more inviting. Great variety for breakfast but hot plates were not efficient. 

Staff friendly. Room clean, coffee facilities and water replaced the next morning. Lovely lady found my husband croissants Saturday morning. Leisure facilities very good.

I know there is a shortage of staff but some of the tables in the dinning room were left with empty plates and glasses at evening time. No no. It would not take that long to clear them.

No water in room for shower no water to flush the toilet no refund or compensation as I was told because I had booked with booking.com the hotel couldn’t refund and I have to complain to booking.com which is rediculous that the hotel couldn’t resolve

The room we were put in backed onto the skips and laundry. The room was tired and in need of refurbishment. The headboard was worn. We had to wait an hour for the room to be ready and were advised we could wait in the bar, but not even offered a complimentary drink 😒

This was a treat for my sister and I after a day's shopping at Cheshire Oaks. My sister was over from Australia, so it was a special time.

Slow to be seated and served in the restaurant on the evening. It was a shame the Quay was unkempt. Not sure if the hotel is responsible for that. The hotel is by the main road which could be heard, especially as it was warm and needed the windows open.

Comfortable bed, clean, dual aspect end room. Breakfast buffet cooked, but toast to order.

The staff were a little stiff and unfriendly. We had no water in the room on the day of our departure so we were unable to use the facilities or shower.
