Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe internet connection is not as stable as in some big cities. An ideal place to relax but not for working from home. It would be a waste to ignore the beautiful surroundings so put the phone and laptop down to enjoy! PS I went here to enjoy my family time so I am glad 😊
Nice and cozy lodge. Sparking clean, thick curtains, lots of heating, throws and blankets to keep warm and comfortable. Very welcoming and introduced the lodge well on arrival, also got some recommendations and little hints about some local shops. A present stay with family !

United KingdomI'm a light sleeper, so I woke with the horses first thing in the morning - if you're not bothered by this, you'll find a really comfortable peaceful stay. It would also be tricky to visit here without a taxi or car if you're not "big walkers" as it took us nearly 40 minutes from the pub The Swettenham Arms.
We had a lovely stay the night of our engagement party, where we actually legally wed the morning of, and the hosts surprised us with some prosecco as a "congratulations!" which was absolutely lovely :) We didn't get a chance to drink it as we arrived really late and left early but it was a lovely gesture and we were left in peace the whole time.

United KingdomThere was absolutely nothing to dislike x
Beautifully furnished inside - so much nicer than I was expecting considering how little it cost to stay. Super comfy bed and spacious light airy bathroom. Everything was spotlessly clean and Fionnuala and her husband were so welcoming. The added bonus for us was the lovely horses on the livery yard and the dogs. Would have happily stayed a few more nights!

AustraliaNothing-this was our idea of the perfect place to stay.
What a fabulous property situated within a working livery stable. We could listen to the horses clip clopping around the yard and watch them every day being groomed. Very comfortable and roomy accommodation, a cosy wood burning fire for cold nights, easy drive to lots of great sightseeing and shops in Congleton. The hosts were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Quiet rural location-we had a fantastic stay.

United KingdomStayed here as a couple because we felt like we needed to get away, and this was the perfect place to be. This beautiful, peaceful lodge fulfilled all our needs and desires, even though it was only for 1 night. And we didnt want to leave. Alex is such a lovely person and a great host, he greeted us upon arrival and was very informative and helpful. He even let us see and interact with the horses, which made our day as we love animals. It was so lovely. Once we set foot inside the lodge, we didn't leave as it was so perfect and comfortable. Plus we had access to all the facilities we needed so we didn't need to go anywhere. It was also very clean, especially the bathroom. I could tell whoever cleaned the lodge took extra care and did a fantastic job. This is really appreciated. There was a few cobwebs high up in corners but maybe that's because I'm picky and it wasn't too much of a problem. Overall it exceeded our expectations. We had the best nights sleep, I can honestly say it was the comfiest bed I've ever slept in, and I woke up feeling so revitalised. The lodge is exactly like the pictures advertised and we were not disappointed. This was a much needed break away from the busy everyday life and we're so thankful to our hosts. We will hopefully be back again soon.

Everything! The hosts were lovely and very accommodating, they gave me some good information on eateries - the Davenport Inn didn't disappoint! I booked the lodge last minute (1 hour before arrival), when I arrived Alex had lit the log fire and popped the heating on, it was very warm and cosy. I would book again if/when I'm in the area next.
