To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

I stayed here for one night because I was in Birmingham for a concert, and it was perfect for me. This place is around 15 minutes walk away from the Utilita Arena so the access was great, and the walk along the canal was beautiful as well. There's a supermarket near it so it was convenient. The host was a lovely gentleman and I felt comfortable.

Brilliant location right in the middle of Birmingham city centre, easily accessible, it was quiet and quite comfortable, great view across the city from the bedroom, really good value for money for 1 night.

I had use of the fully equipped kitchen to make my own breakfasts etc. and I was given a key to the apartment to enable me to come and go freely during my stay. The hosts were very relaxed, friendly and welcoming so I instantly felt at home. We also had some interesting conversations. Recommended!

United KingdomI'm not sure if I read the description correctly, but it is occupied by a family,( who were absolutely lovely). I was early on arrival but they did accommodate me quickly. The only thing really that put me off was there was no lock on the bedroom door. Not a major issue but some people like this when travelling.
Was going to a gig at the utilita arena. Great location for this event.
