Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Staff in the bar were not friendly, no price list up beer not great. service charge of £2,00 on each meal was unacceptable and we did make a complaint the price on the menu is what you should pay and if you want to leave a tip that should be a personal choice.
Room was lovely clean and all facilities that we needed. Receptionist was efficient. Waitress in dining room was superb helpful and friendly Breakfast was lovely well cooked and lots of choice.

The cold water tap flow in the basin was very poor, and tiles over the bath needed replacing where the hand rail had been moved from. That's our only small complaint as we had a very comfy stay at the Saracens Head.
Breakfast was great, as was the location, our old town of 40years. When visiting my family again we will be booking again.

Personally, we thought the bed was a bit firm. Everything else was perfect, thank you.
The room, the food, the building and the area were all lovely. Good base for the 2 nights. The outside courtyard was a lovely addition as we had friends staying at the same place.

Unfortunately being a pub the noise from outside from people and also from the room next to mine i found it hard to sleep.No sound proofing. Could hear there television or music in there room. Conversation and doors shutting. Very difficult if you want a early night's sleep. Bed was hard for my liking and was aching when got up. Staff ok but when asked about my sleep all I got was an ok. Not the response I'd expect.
The breakfast was well cooked with no grease. Size of the bedroom good.

It felt like the hotel in general was too busy preparing for a wedding and did not have time for other guests. We also waited more than an hour for our breakfast

The room was spacious and situated in a block at the rear of the hotel. This gave a quiet night away from any traffic on the main road. Staff were helpful, friendly and wanted to please. Good menu choice and location.

Curtains, try closing them during the day and see how much light comes through, invest in better blackout blinds / curtains, room was like daytime before 7pm. I had to roll up a towel on top of curtain s and push the curtain up against the window to try and stop it being so bright, was hoping on a bit of a lie in but room too bright once the sun was up. Shower: Please fit thermostatic mixer tap for shower over bath before someone gets scalded. Had to turn taps at just the right angles and hope nobody in the building used a cold tap . Other than above room was comfortable and nicely decorated. Breakfast was ok but the tomato ketchup looked like it was watered down

We stayed only for one night before our flight from Stansted airport. The breakfast was excellent, there was free parking, a good bed, plenty of hot water and all that above a cosy pub!

Noisey court yard but understandable as attached to pub and quietened down quickly,

Building with loads of character. Bedroom was very clean with a recently refurbished bathroom. Very helpful staff. Great attention to detail. Kitchen was closing as I arrived late eve, but they offered me a meal-Great service.

No drinking water in taps in bedroom, the pillows were all too big, the heating was on maximum with no thermostat to regulate other than the valve on the radiator which I am not sure was working properly as it was still blasting heat out even switched down.
Excellent location, great food and very friendly high quality service by all staff.
