Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe main entrance could've had a sigh or something indicating that the door is in use. I went round the building looking for the reception.
The room was very spacious, the beds were comfortable and my granddaughters enjoyed playing there. The hallway was impressive with as I reckon 19th century paintings and red carpet. The girls liked the mirror in the bathroom.

United KingdomHotel needs some minor repairs, sash windows not working, wardrobe door not closing, shower head needing repair. Hotel advertises airport shuttle but this is not a courtesy car but an offer to book a taxi which you have to pay for. No downstairs rooms or lifts to upstairs rooms. Lay out and numbering of the rooms a bit confusing.
Good location, near centre of Elgin. Not far from train or coach station, plenty of car parking. Good breakfast, generous size clean room, coffee and tea making facilities. Helpful host recommending restaurants.

United States of AmericaThe gravel driveway because one of our party was in a wheelchair.
Everything, although one room we booked was a bit small but the other was great. It was clean and the facility was well-kept. It was walking distance to the town. There was breakfast available.

QatarA general comment about the B&Bs at which we stayed on this trip: a £10 breakfast isn’t great value when not taking a cooked option, which we didn’t because we didn’t want to cycle on a full stomach. I’d like to see a standard breakfast included in the price or at a reduced rate. Not a criticism of St Michael’s.
This is an exceptional guest house and better than all other places we stayed at a comparable price point. family room had a separated space for the children to sleep. It’s right next to the town centre and a couple of super markets at which to stock up. Great shower and nicely decorated room.

SingaporeTowel dryer & central heater not switched on some evening but there's a small self controlled backup heater, so not really an issue. Missed booking another room as the property is quite popular hence it can be fully booked during peak periods. Rooms are not really sound proof. Wifi can be a little slower in the evening. These are adaptable so not really an issue.
Great location. Well maintained rooms & property. Friendly & understanding host. Parking space. Good sitting area/ working area outside of rooms. Attention to details. Lovely garden/backyard. Great shower heads & shower temperature control. Feels homey after a long day.

United KingdomThere is no lift in the building, so it may not be suitable for people with mobility difficulties.
It was a spacious room with extra extension bedroom for kids with two separate beds. The design took us back to the past with Victorian furniture and building arrangement, but this did not compromise the comfort and cleanliness of the hotel and the room. Hazel was absolutely amazing and other staff were very friendly too. There was no option for dinner, so we took an option to explore the centre of the town which was just a short distance away. The breakfast was available on site and delicious. Luckily, even that the hotel is located by a main road, there was car park available on site.
