A friendly greeting , easy check in & explaining of general times for breakfast, double edged key for opening room & front door . We were shown to our room . It was perfectly clean tidy and well thought out and use of space , it was over looking a outside sunny terrace. The Bed was comfortable, hot drink making was plentiful, lots of drawers and more than ample hanging space . Breakfast for the 3 mornings was one of the best had at any other guest hotel I have been to in choice and quality , nothing was too much trouble , it was not rushed , it was deffo a leisurely breakfast for me for just how I like it , Heather was the nicest lady and knowledgeable of the area and places we might like to go to . A lovely Hotel of a very high standard

Lovely hotel in a beautiful Victorian property. Everything was very clean and there were lots of nice personal touches Our host Heather was very friendly and helpful and happy to advise on local walks etc. A really enjoyable stay.

Heather was the perfect host, a lovely lady. I felt welcome as soon as I came through the door. My room was clean and comfortable with a great en-suite. Breakfast was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble.

If I was to say anything it would be about the steps leading up to the property but these can't be avoided and there is a sturdy hand rail.

Everything! Fabulous hostess, Heather made us feel welcome and right at home. She is truly the sweetest lady and her dog Poppy is just adorable. The house itself is a little way from town, about 10-15 mins walking, there are hills so going to town is easier than coming back, taxis are £3.50 though.. There are steps that lead up to the property and cannot be avoided, but we loved it. Nothing was too much trouble and the breakfast was superb! No complaints here and we would stay there again very happily. We also enjoyed the honesty bar that is set up, such a nice touch :) Thank you Heather, and we hope to see you again. XX

Steep step access only. A little to far for the unfit to reach the promenade.

Convenient location close to postbox and bus stops in either direction. Exceptional breakfast. Muesli very fresh & crisp. Full plated superb English breakfast with hash brown of choice. Filter coffee. Toast & preserve choice. Excellent Wi-Fi.

We loved staying at Strathmore and thoroughly recommend it. It's a cosy, homely place whose hospitable hosts Heather and Poppy the dog made us feel very welcome. We found it a very convenient base to explore the coast by car.

En-suite shower room was perhaps a little on the small side but again was sufficient for our needs and was exceptionally clean.

The breakfast was superb and probably one of the best that I have had the pleasure to enjoy over the years with a good efficient service from the hard worked owner who personally served each table. Heather, the Landlady is a lovely friendly lady and nothing is too much trouble for her at any time. Lovely old style property in good order and tastefully decorated throughout.
