Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomSmall bedroom (but with a good sized ensuite). Bedroom window looked straight out onto a fence and overshadowed by trees meant not much natural light. Low level of lighting in bathroom not ideal for shaving or make up application.
Excellent breakfast and friendly and helpful staff made for a very pleasant one night stay. Convenient car parking and a nice bar area also contributed. Care had been taken with the decor in the bedroom as well as the public spaces.

United KingdomPricing isn’t too bad as it included breakfast. Without it would have felt a fraction high.
Beautifully clean and well decorated. Room was perfect for our needs. We’d had a night at Highclere Castle for battle proms. Lovely location, great parking, really helpful staff and very friendly.

United KingdomAccommodated us in disabled room owing to mum been 90yrs. Bathroom was cold even with towel heater on and shower not pleasant. Had to put towels on wet room floor so she didn't slip Breakfast wasn't great. Ordered Egg florenine which all I could taste was vinegar. Managed to eat one, left the other. Informed the waitress but nothing was done about it. Had to go to the bar with tea and coffee pots to request more drinks. Waitress had disappeared. Didn't feel we had an enjoyable breakfast experience. Menu for evening meals had no prices on them. On watching other meals been served, we decided to have fish platter to share. Was quite tasty and presented well. Had to go to bar to request forks inorder to be able to eat. No finger bowls provided. Had to use wash basin in ladies to freshen hands up. Beds comfy. Restaurant and pub area just felt dingy with colour scheme and artefacts Dispite above the accommodation served its purpose
It was very near to Highclere Castle of which we were visiting Gluten free muffin and oatmilk in room to meet dietary requirements

United KingdomThe side table with tea and coffee was very crowded, and so it was difficult to use the make-up mirror
The bar staff were exceptionally helpful when we returned late back from Newbury races due to taxi issues. They helped us order some food to be delivered as the kitchen had closed, and even got a heater to help us dry after getting soaked in the rain!

United KingdomRoom alot smaller than expected. Booked twin room & ended up with the disabled room (without prior knowledge). No wardrobe just 2 coat hangers each on a rail. No drawers - the only 2 very small ones in the table held snacks (which you had to pay for) & a hairdryer so nowhere for personal items. Nowhere to put suitcases as available floor space very small.
Very friendly & helpful staff. Lovely food - both breakfast & evening meals

U.S. Virgin IslandsThe rooms were a bit musty, the lighting was not sufficient and the space felt dated (not in a vintage way), with too many spider webs/spiders around to be a hotel. Unless you are in for a Halloween weekend, that does not really work.
The location was perfect for the visit to Highclere Castle.

United States of AmericaThe sink in the bathroom is quite tiny. The fire alarm came on randomly in the middle of the afternoon, it didn't last long but it was quite startling.
Friendly, helpful staff. Location to Highclere. Bed was comfortable. Room smelled very clean. The restaurant and bar area is really cool looking and is a nice place to hang out. The outdoor seating was wonderful.

GuernseyThat we weren't able to try the food due to arriving late and eating on the road. The menu looked tasty.
Lovely ambience to the hotel, nicely furnished and a lot of thought has gone into the tea and coffee facilities and extras if wanted. The bed was comfy, the room was quiet, and we felt welcomed by staff. We would stay again.
