Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Great location only 5-10 minute walk from the town centre. Easy parking outside the hotel. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was amazing and had a very good selection. Will definitely be back.

Very welcoming friendly people, lots of local knowledge, lovely clean room, massive bed in room 4, breakfast very plentiful with a massive choice, nice view and very easy walk to the beach and town(I have a broken knee and still managed to do it !) would definitely recommend and would stay there again.

There wasn't anything I didn't like during my stay.
Comfortable, nothing was too much trouble, the hosts were very engaging, made you feel part of their family. The view / location were ideal. Breakfast was perfect, just enough, overnight oats are now part of my start to the day. Thank you

The balcony needs some TLC
Watch the sun rise over the sea and sleep in silence away from the hustle bustle of the town. Breakfast was generous as were the lovely family that run the hotel.

Room was a bit small.

It was a bit hard to find, but the owner gave us brilliant directions to get there by car
The Devonhurst was in an amazing situation overlooking the sea and it was fantastic to wake up to the waves and see the boats and dog-walkers. The hosts were very friendly and helpful, ensuring we had all we needed. Their breakfast selection was really unusual and it was great to try some of the foods they had available - the parfaits were a delicious healthy start to the day! There was plenty of free parking on the road outside.

Not a single thing!
The location is incredible; overlooking the sea. Our room was spacious and well-appointed. Matt and Kaz are the most delightful hosts and wnt out odf their way to accommodate some of the requests of a couple of jet-lagged Americans. There's ample on-street parking and it's reasonably easy to get in and out of town. The house is within walking distance to restaurants and you should probably book ahead as the area was busy even in the off season. They make variety of a breakfast yogurt pafaits that are specacular so make sure you give one a try.

The bed was really uncomfortable and the decor was a bit tired.
The staff were amazing and professional and really helpful. The room was nice as it had a balcony overlooking the sea. The breakfast was lovely.

Hotel was lovely , host were superb ! Couldn’t be more friendly and accommodating, 😀 continental breakfast bought to your table by hosts was excellent! Lovely variety to choose from , would highly recommend ! Beach a very short distance was beautiful a real little gem of a place would highly recommend ! 😀and will definitely be visiting Matt and caz at the Devonhurst again !
