Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United Kingdom3pm check in - 2pm would have been nicer - but not a big issue. This is a first/second floor apartment and has steep and narrow stairs which were not an issue for us - but not suitable for anyone with accessibility issues.
Perfectly located for the conference centre. I was attending a chorus convention with a friend and we were dashing backwards and forwards from the convention centre to put on stage makeup and change outfits. The apartment had everything we needed, two good sized bedrooms, two toilets, space to unpack and hang up our outfits, big mirrors, two showers, easy and convenient parking on the street. Also a nice lounge to relax and wind down in after a busy day. We really enjoyed our stay at the Granville - the whole weekend was topped off with a gold medal in the chorus competition. If we come back to sing in Harrogate again, we will definitely book the Granville.

United KingdomUnhappy with the late check in and very early check out. I get up early and we don't drink but having to leave (and give parking pass back) for 10am is far too early for me, especially as we couldn't check in until 3pm. I'd expect 11am check out and 1-2pm check as much more standard these days. The kitchen has absolutely no counter space making it difficult to manage even making a drink, some cereal and chopping up a bit of fruit. I kind of like the quirky layout but having the decent shower off the living room is just weird. TV mounted far too high. Sofa and chairs not particularly comfortable. Upstairs bathroom shower door was a bit grim with mould at the bottom between the folds of the door. This bathroom is tiny and not really usable as fan so loud disturbs sleep of everyone else.
Fantastic location. Nice quirky property.

United KingdomThe amount of stairs - I didn’t realise the property was a flight of stairs, then more to the bedrooms I had my retired mother with me and it was a challenge The split out on bathrooms on different floors - too small - shower off the lounge the door needs to have a proper lock The fridge door and freezer area needs attention kitchen - too small for three adults The TV was a huge issue - couldn’t get normal TV on it even the instructions were not correct in the evening we wanted to relax and watch TV but we couldn’t the saucepans need to be switched out - the handles are dangerous they get roast hot and there wasn’t an oven glove in the house. the single beds were very uncomfortable and narrow
The location was excellent to the town centre just a few minutes walk to shops and restaurants Parking was excellent and they provided a pass for the whole stay which was complimentary loved the sofa as it was so comfortable the double bed was very comfortable

United Kingdom2 sets of extremely steep stairs which were too challenging for me to climb so we had to leave. I am elderly and on Airbnb it mentions it may not be suitable for the elderly but nothing on this site. Please be honest so people like me have a realistic picture and wording of what they are renting. Other people have made similar comments. There was a tiny shower room and the pictures do not reflect this accommodation which needs attention. There were several repairs that we pointed out to the owner including bare carpet gripper outside the bedroom which I stepped on. Booking.com have paid some money back to us but the owner has not. We had booked for my 70th birthday

CanadaWe couldn't figure out how to get TV channels on the TV but that might be because we're from out of country and unfamiliar with the system?
The location was perfect for attending a conference - the centre was a 1 minute walk away and just a 10 minute walk from the train station. Beautiful historic house on a quiet and picturesque street. Very easy check-in and excellent communication from the host throughout the stay. Two bedrooms with lots of space and a cool main sitting room. Lots of good restaurant options within a 5 minute walk. We'll definitely stay here again.
