Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomA little tired. Bed not particularly comfortable but adequate for an overnight stay. Unable to get a taxi unless prepared to pay ridiculous money.
Quirky olde former coaching Inn. Friendly staff. Very clean room located at the rear of the Inn which was very quiet. Lovely breakfast.

United KingdomGeneral customer service and responding to queries.
Breakfast was included but it was not early enough for my colleague. My colleague asked if a beverage or an alternative could be offered but no responses or options were given. This was disappointing as we were denied having cooked food at lunch as the kitchen was too busy!

United KingdomI wouldn't exactly say dislike, but it's a little dated.
Nice pleasant place to stay. The lady who looked after the hotel was very helpful and polite. Breakfast was very good. Overall, considering we stayed for one night, I would definitely recommend it.

United KingdomThe room, although comfortable for a one night stay after a day spent walking, is probably in need of some TLC.
The room overlooked the road and the green opposite giving the room a bright feel. Breakfast of scrambled egg was lovely as was the welcome and service in the pub itself.

United KingdomWe are used to a six foot wide bed, and the four foot one on offer was cosy 🤣 but it was comfortable. The small quilt cover was constantly stolen by my wife too! The bathroom was bit dated but functional with an amazingly powerfull shower. The building as a whole was bit tired with many plastic containers around collecting rainwater, no doubt not helped by the continuous rain being experienced at the moment. The car park was not easily found in the dark so we parked in the lay-by across the road!
Our bedroom was on the back of the property so road noise was muted. Heating was very good and the room a reasonable size and good value. We were out for a Christmas Dinner with friends a couple of miles away so we were only looking for a bed for the night. We were able to arrive back after closing time at the pub without any issues. The staff were friendly and the cooked breakfast welcome the following morning. The garden looked welcoming from our bedroom window with a good children's play area, so I am sure the pub must be popular in the summer months as it's location in the Surrey Hills gives it beautiful surroundings.

United KingdomThe building is large, and is in need of some tlc, not easy in these straitened times for landlords. But small things like the bedhead being very loose, brown stain in toilet bowl, and rough grouting/silicon in the bathroom are small fixes.
Friendly welcome We ate in the bar in the evening, and the food was standard pub grub, but well cooked and plenty of it. Lovely to have a good selection of vegetables.
