Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

We loved everything about this little house. Location was great for city visiting. The house itself was so very clean, with superb modern, comfortable facilities. Our hosts had left some little extras like milk and beautiful biscuits to welcome us. Very kind and thoughtful of them. This little house had everything. Lots of thought has gone into equipping the house. Beautiful shower, by the way!

The location was perfect. Super walkable to all of the restaurants and shops and castle. The property was well stocked with Anything you needed. So impressed with how thoroughly they had thought of everything. The host was kind and welcoming and made sure we didn’t have any needs or wants. Such an amazing value for a great experience!

Everything was wonderful!
Everything about the house and our stay was perfect. Fantastic location close enough to get to everything yet far enough for peace and quiet. Cute, cozy, clean with new kitchen and bathroom, it was wonderful. Hosts were quick to respond and very kind/easy to deal with. Sweet little details like books about Scotland, games, and necessities were readily available. So happy with our stay-thank you!!

Very comfy little house with excellent location. You have a very convenient parking just outside, and everything to see or do is 5-10 minutes walking away. I'd definitely stay there again.

Everything was great only suggestions I would have was some hooks in bathroom and 2nd bedroom
Great accommodation with a lot of thought put into the facilities and decor. A bungalow very near the river , great view and very walkable into city centre. Very well equipped kitchen , great books and games for all ages. Fab shower, quiet location.

I couldn't help but be amazed by the hosts' thoughtful consideration. There were welcome chocolates for each child, as well as books and toys for them. Each room and the living room were beautifully decorated, and the front and back yards, covered in grass, were very nice. The bathroom facilities were top-notch. All amenities were conveniently placed, and the hosts' instructions, accompanied by photos, were very clear. Parking could be done right on the street in front, and there was always plenty of space. The view of the river right next to the house was fantastic. The local restaurant next door had excellent prices and taste. Our family has traveled extensively and stayed in many more expensive accommodations, but this one is the best. It's a place we'd love to stay at again!

Lovely little house right by the river. 10 minute, easy, picturesque walk to the city center. Has a washing machine so we were able to do some much needed laundry!

It was all good.
We loved the little house. The location was excellent, right on the River Ness. Lovely path right across the road for a very short walk across the pedestrian bridge to the shops. Two good restaurants steps away. The accommodations were excellent. Very clean and comfortable with everything you would need to prepare meals. Finding milk and snacks as well as tea and coffee was a delightful surprise. The beds were extremely comfortable and the shower excellent. The living room was also comfortable and there was plenty of books about Scotland and by Scottish writers. The little house on the Ness will make you feel right at home. We highly recommend it.

Nothing we didn't like! It really was great.
Great location, and such a comfortable and homely stay! A lovely clean, neat and modern unit - felt like a little home away from home. Really couldn't be any better - right on the river! Also just a few doors down from 'The Waterfront' pub which has great food and the night we went had some lovely live music too.

Fabulous location, wonderful little extra touches, like leaving some biscuits and wine for us to enjoy. We love the decor in the house and all of the great books to read. The hosts were incredibly accommodating and quick to respond to messages. Perfect for two friends traveling through the Highlands!
