Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomToilet system makes an electrical noise every few minutes and all night even when not in use, think this is due to the macerator. Main shower head was broken in Grouse so whilst it still showers lots of water runs over the top of the shower head and not through it as intended. Attention to cleanliness needs a little finessing to take this room and experience to the next level, things like cleaning the outer bath panel front as had water stains and cleaning/replacing the shower screen plastic seal as this was very dirty and more brown than the original clear plastic colour. Also the toiletries provided are lovely and if great quality but let down by leaking/non functional bottles.
We loved our stay here for the great location, friendly and welcoming staff who couldn’t do enough for you, room furnishings and decor but also for the amazing food…, great choice and executed to a very higher standard, both dinner and lunch and couldn’t recommend highly enough. The property has a great outside space too (lots of cover area also should it be raining)

United KingdomWhen we checked in the room smelt of food coming from an extractor fan I think. Wasn’t that pleasant. We booked for 3 people but only had two bathrobes and towels.
The room was clean and comfortable. It was nice to have the garden separating us from the pub.

AustraliaRooms facing the road can be a little noisy if you're a light sleeper, so I would suggest one of the garden rooms
The family room was great, and photos don't do them justice. The staff are fantastic and nothing was too much trouble

United KingdomThey need to know the night before if you want breakfast otherwise you have to go elsewhere , also the water bottles were not replenished daily which was a shame and the bath mat was not changed , it was very grubby, I did leave it in the bath but it was ignored. Also the shower screen had no seal so every time you had a shower the floor was soaking wet, i had to use the bath mat to mop it up hence the grubbiness. Flush awful on loo. Knobs had fallen of wardrobe and drawers (these were in the bottom drawer)
Great location in Brockenhurst, great price for the room, Modern and stylish.

United Kingdomsome of the features could have done with an update and missing final touches (there was a small hole that was recently plastered over but not painted), bathroom very clean but could do with touching up
great location, beautiful pub and restaurant. Room was lovely and airy, plenty of space and very functional. Lovely rooms tucked away in a little courtyard with easy access back into the pub

United Kingdomdecor was quite dark and tired . We were moved straight away ( literally has just got the luggage to the room ) the lady who had taken us to our room felt it smelt smoky so she moved us to the court room which was a much nicer room on the ground floor . Drinks quite pricey compared to other pubs in the village and the food also pricy for what you got
lovely old building with lots of little seating areas both inside and out , in a great location in Brockenhurst

United KingdomGood location and facilities. We had a room in the main building, which was convenient. All good with the only blip being the constant sound of the central heating throughout the night. This was July, so it a bit of a surprise. Mentioned the to the manager before departure. Otherwise, a good place to stay.

United KingdomIn 'Goose' room could only open 1 of the 3 windows in room so very hot & stuffy during night. In 'Quail' room you had to walk in into the shower to turn it on, need to be wary of direction of shower head when turning on as it sprayed the curtains and towels which were left on window cill.
Rooms spacious and very comfortable

United KingdomIt’s rather dark in the room but if the curtains are open you lose privacy.
The staff were simply excellent, attentive and friendly. The Cosy Double Room is comfortable and reasonably well appointed. Unfortunately we were unable to have breakfast due to illness but we received a no quibble refund. There is a myriad of areas in and outside at which to either dine or drink.

AustraliaCheck in a little ad hoc, as same busy staff also serving drinks etc. Prob not for families as rooms small.
This is a great place to stay in Brock. The rooms are smallish but comfortable. It is centrally located in easy walking distance of other places, though there Is parking too. Nowhere as expensive as the bigger hotels, but way nicer than B&Bs. Nice restaurant with outdoor garden area too. Staff friendly.
